Posted October 3, 200915 yr K, so today we were in Harvey Norman, and my Logitech 3d pro has been failing hard ever since I got back from Brissy. Anyway, I bought a Cyborg Evo Force from Saitek, it's a great stick it has force feedback, it's comfy, has all the buttons, lights up and lots of other things. But my problem is, when I try and fly anything in PR/BF2 it automatically steers to the right. Tried calibrating and all that jazz, latest drivers and run calibration through the software a few times. Has anyone else got this stick or a similar problem? http://i.imgur.com/DtNdckc.png [WC]Xavo|xXx:
October 3, 200915 yr got any other ligtech or such programs runing behind it,... check your controls... sounds like a bind issue to me. [WC] Tpr.Chrisso06 http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/armouredservice.bmp "My other ride is an ASLAV" http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/7264/newtanksig.jpg
October 3, 200915 yr Author got any other ligtech or such programs runing behind it,... check your controls... sounds like a bind issue to me. I should've been clearer. When sitting on the runway ready to take off with no hands on the stick, it drifts slightly to the right and eventually you hit the wall on the side of the runway. http://i.imgur.com/DtNdckc.png [WC]Xavo|xXx:
October 3, 200915 yr I have always found that all vehicles in BF2 drift to the right when your moving. Regardless of what input device you use. However your case is extreme and I'm sorry to say I don't know what might cause it or how to fix it. http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa188/VisOne_Photo/Signatures%20and%20Banners/VisP.png
October 3, 200915 yr is there a calibration screw/knob on the bottom of the stick you can fiddle with? http://users.on.net/~mperrin/images/les_mis_kindros.png You're all wrong, and I am always right, and the sooner you accept it, the happier you will be. That is all! Va Fan Culo
October 3, 200915 yr I too suffer from this debilitating disorder. Apparently it is a subconscious twisting motion caused by too much time making the same hand shape. Is it possible you spend a lot of time gripping something the same shape as your joystick? Before I get infracted, I have the same joystick. I have the same issue. The best way I've found to fix it is to widen the deadzone, or, twist and flick the thing until it centres. I think it's possibly a sticky sensor issue or something. My problem happens when Im just lifting off using the joystick - I roll almost immediately to the right, no matter what I set my controls to. And before anyone starts getting too self-righteous - YES, I LET IT WARM UP FIRST. So if anyone knows the answer, that'd be swell. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
October 3, 200915 yr And before anyone starts getting too self-righteous - YES, I LET IT WARM UP FIRST. So that's why I always crash  Thanks!
October 3, 200915 yr Since everyone has joysticks now, who wants to play some IL-2 Sturmovik, need version 4.09 and some other mods ( awesome graphics, terrain, maps ) jaja it's awesome fun! edit: Might need 1946 , pacific fighters, over manchuria, etc the complete pack thing i dunno, it's what i have. just extra planes etc... like the one on steam i think! getting mad for peoples amusement

Thanks for your help/uneeded info I found the twist-flick-then yank hard (yes I know) fix whilst screwing around (yes I know) in a training server. Then I widened the deadzone a bit and it works a charm now. I think it must be a fault with the design though because a lot of people are complaining about it and the only fix they have is to unscrew it and fiddle around with the cogs inside - not that I'm gonna try that in a hurry @Daffan, I'm thinking of saving up and buying that. Looks like a heap decent sim. Is it better than Combat Flight Sim 3? Another one I'm looking at is DCS: Black Shark and when they come out the ones for the Apache and A10 Edited October 3, 200915 yr by BaseJump http://i.imgur.com/DtNdckc.png [WC]Xavo|xXx:

Another one I'm looking at is DCS: Black Shark and when they come out the ones for the Apache and A10 Yes, it is much better, the missions are better, campaigns are dynamic, multi-crewed aircraft, oh so many aircraft ( over 300 ) custom cockpits, oh it's wonderful and with the patch the terrain, trees, water and geometry got a massive overhaul, which makes it lovely for a flight sim. There are carriers, chooks blocks and the cable landings ( cant remember name ) wing folding and all that jazz. I only recently got back into it and wondered once why the wheels wouldnt come up. Some planes didint have automated gears........good sim all fronts of battle, eastern, western, pacific, big AI battles and there is a ton of realism settings you can change... If you DL its ok too, like i Some people have online squadrans and the yack where they go on tours of duty sort of like campaigns, as the missions are dynamic. What ever happens, the next mission is based around....although be warned some missions involve alot of flying around to gain altitude Edited October 3, 200915 yr by ferris747 getting mad for peoples amusement
October 3, 200915 yr i get that too but have learn to compensate for the right drift (o; There comes a time in every musician's life when they must decide what instrument they should master. Few. If any are ever worthy enough to master. The cowbell.
October 3, 200915 yr I have a Saitek X52 flight system and I am considering throwing it in the bin, I have used it for ages but I find the build quality of it to be terrible. If I ever buy another joystick or flight sim controller I will definitely be spending the money and getting one from a company like CH who make high quality flight sim gear also joysticks for cranes etc. http://www.clan-tea.com/sigs/flames/Poncho-Temp.png Orders starting with SOMEBODY usually wind up being completed by NOBODY.
October 3, 200915 yr have two saitek cyborgs myself, on with the totally rad game port connecter and the Evo (minus ff). find them much better than any other j/stick except my old Thrustmaster i use to own during the heady days of F15 Strike Eagle III on my 486sx. word of advise tho, NEVER buy computer periferals from Harvey Norman, was pricing up my j/stick, G15 and G5. The G5 i could get for under $100 (was only just out) but at HN, they were selling them for $169, the G15 was nearly $100 more than other shops as well. Couldn't believe it! October 3, 200915 yr I bought a Cyborg Evo. Wish I hadnt. There is a design flaw in the cyborg range such that some cant be centred. They use analog pots for all 3 axis so unless you want to solder in some trim pots to adjust them your only options are try and return it or use dxtweak2 http://www.totalgamingnetwork.com/main/showthread.php?t=98649 to work aroud the evos limitations by increasing your dead spots. :hi:
October 4, 200915 yr Author Fallen, Using that software to make my Y Axis more sensitive (I fell out of the sky in a LB yesterday) It won't let me save the profile because the damn thing crashes. Running Vista 32bit and in WinXP SP2 compatability mode. http://i.imgur.com/DtNdckc.png [WC]Xavo|xXx:
October 4, 200915 yr http://www.saitek.com/images/300dpi/Joystick_PS22_ST90_LegsOpen_ProductImage.jpg Mine cost me $15 new and it works good as gold. Hehe http://i.imgur.com/rfTYp.png
October 4, 200915 yr Author Nah, I've had it. Gonna see if I can return it today. It's just rediculous, one problem after another. Yesterday it was the right rudder problem, fixed that with deadzones after discovering it also happens when you do a hard left rudder. Now the Y axis is screwed, the 'centre' as defined by the programme is like 1/4 of the way forward meaning the controls are set into a permanent dive. I tried using 3rd party software to change that, but there isn't and support above WinXP basically. The thing is over sensitive, again something you can't adjust. So I've just had it. I've kept allof the packaging so it's going back. Thanks to those poeple that tried to help, it just wasn't worth $120 I paid for it. http://i.imgur.com/DtNdckc.png [WC]Xavo|xXx:

October 4, 200915 yr do yourselves all a favor and buy a thrustmaster cougar hotas and a set of CH rudder pedals. been playing flight sims for a long time now and nothing beats em. logitech/saitek stuff look cool but unfortunately doesn't get my because they just aren't up to scratch. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v390/pennywise_pw/pennywiseevilfun.png -Evi|. October 4, 200915 yr Author Just got back from HN. At first they wanted to swap the old one for one just off the shelf, then we explained to them that I didn't want a new Saitek but since they didn't have any other brands I asked for a refund. The lady was very good, she checked everything was as it should be, commented on how well I packed it up, made a phone call and gave us $118 back, (minus $1.96 GST I noticed). But anyway, I'm back to square one with my slightly broken 3D Pro that is out of warranty and I'll just have to find out how to make deadzones. http://i.imgur.com/DtNdckc.png [WC]Xavo|xXx:
October 4, 200915 yr take her apart dude. clean out the potentiometers with some methylated spirits. just soak em in it, for a minute and take them out. wiggle them through full travel while the metho is still in there and then blow them out with compressed air. failing that just blow the metho out with your breath just so it evaporates out. put her all back together again and it should work until the carbon builds up in the pots again. give that a go and see how it works. did it plenty of times with previous joysticks that i've owned and usually works for a while. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v390/pennywise_pw/pennywiseevilfun.png -Evi|.
