BigD Community Guidelines

By playing on any BigD server, you agree to follow the rules and guidelines outlined on the BigD website. These guidelines apply to everyone in the community and help keep BigD a friendly, fair and enjoyable place to play.

Teamwork, Maturity & Fair Play
These principles have been at the heart of BigD since its inception. Our Code of Conduct is built around three simple expectations: work together, treat others with respect, and play fairly.

We expect all members of the BigD community to contribute to an environment where everyone can enjoy the game, regardless of their experience, playstyle or skill level.

  1. Advertising in any form for clans, communities, websites, or any other individual/group is forbidden without the approval of a Community Manager.

  2. Any discussion of bans, kicks or warnings are not to be discussed in-game, in public spaces or by private message to admins/moderators. We encourage users to open a ticket in Discord or via our website in order to resolve all grievances.

  3. Impersonation of any BigD Admins, Managers, Moderators, Clan Members, or other affiliated individuals and groups is forbidden.

  4. Gamertags must not have profanity, racism, slander or any words/phrases that may be seen as offensive. This includes abbreviations and replacing letters of an offensive word with symbols/numerals.

  5. Excessive/targeted profanity in voip and text chat is not allowed.

  6. Griefing, Spamming, Exploiting, Cheating, Racism, Sexism, Doxing, Hate Speech and Harassment are not tolerated on our servers.

  7. Do not spam the !admin ping, if you do need to ping an admin, ensure you also include the reason within your !admin ping.

  8. When streaming any BigD hosted games, it is recommended that you run a map overlay or delay.

    1. Stream sniping is considered an exploit of the game and will be punished as such.

  9. BigD is an inclusive place to everyone all over the world, from different origins, backgrounds, religions, ideologies and orientations, so at all times, players are expected to act with integrity and treat each other with respect. This is just a game and we encourage teamwork, communication, to play fair, encourage each other, help balance servers when needed, teach new players and to just have fun with it.

  10. Intentional team killing is not tolerated. Accidents can happen, so ensure you apologize in all chat.

  11. No Meta Gaming: This is when a player is using outside knowledge, tactics or exploits in order to gain an unfair advantage over other players and/or the game itself. e.g stream sniping, screen sharing or gaining knowledge from the opposite team.

  12. If situations arise that cannot be resolved by the written rules or grey areas arise, admins reserve the right to make decisions in order to protect server health and player experience.

BigD servers are a place where all players can come to game, let out steam, relax, have fun and compete, without the fear of harassment or being in a toxic online environment.
This code of conduct is supported by the Anti-Harassment Guideline; Discord Guidelines and Individual Game Server Rules.

Server Rules

Gameplay

  1. No intentional team killing, ghosting, glitching, griefing, spamming, exploiting, or cheating.

  2. Racism, sexism, hate-speech or any kind of interaction that is discriminatory or offensive will never be tolerated.

  3. Do not waste or misuse team assets, this includes, but is not limited to:

    • Misuse of vehicles against the direction of the Commander or Squad Leader (e.g. 1-way vehicle transports, misuse of trucks, helos, etc)

    • Firing mortars against the direction of the Commander or Squad Leader.

    • Using heavy tanks, boats, helo or expensive assets against the direction of the Commander.

  4. Do not misuse the vote kick system. Vote kicks should only be called if other players are disrupting the gameplay. For example, if they are mass teamkilling or being abusive.

HQ areas

  1. Vehicle Protection: All unmanned vehicles & rep stations in HQ spawns are protected. Do not destroy empty vehicles in HQs, unless:

    • It's the current active Capture Sector, the HQ within the active Capture Sector does not have vehicle protection, the other two HQ spawns retain unmanned vehicle protection.

  2. Tanks are not to enter enemy HQ areas, until the final Capture Sector is active.

  3. Mortar shouldn't target the Capture Sector HQ area until the sector is active, to avoid destroying unmanned vehicles.

  4. Infantry: There is no infantry protection in any HQ area. With buildable mortars in play, HQs are active combat zones.

Units

  1. You must join/create a unit or you will be considered AFK and may be kicked.

  2. Do not create a unit unless you intend on leading it (i.e. don't create a unit and leave).

  3. All leadership positions (Commander, Squad Leader, Spotter, Tank Commander, Helo Leader, Mortar Leader) must communicate effectively via VoIP or text. VoIP is strongly recommended for a better play experience.

  4. Squad leaders may kick you from their squad for any reason they wish. Do not retaliate if you are kicked from a squad, join another squad, or raise an admin ticket (if you have an issue).

  5. Ensure you and your squad are playing the objective(s) (attacking/defending/supporting) as often as possible.

  6. Use of Tanks

    • Locked solo tanks are permitted if working and communicating with the team (Warfare/Offensive).

    • It is strongly recommended that all tanks are operated by 2 or 3 man crews wherever possible to ensure that team assets are not misused.

  7. Locked solo Recon squads (Spotter) are not permitted.

Seeding

In order to kick-off an empty server, we have seeding rules in place to populate the servers as quickly as possible while maintaining fun for those in-game.

  1. Until 20v20 players must fight for the middle point only (Warfare). If you capture the middle point, defend it

  2. Do not destroy enemy garrisons, or enter or attack the sectors beyond the mid point frontline

  3. Armor and mortars are not permitted.

    • Armor practice is allowed so long as you do not approach or engage the middle point.

  4. Commander abilities are permitted during seeding.

  5. XP / Achievement farming is permitted during seeding.

  6. Helos are allowed during seeding however use of the MG or entering the fourth sector is not permitted.

  7. Seeding is over when the server reaches >20 v 20 players, this is the number of players on each side shown under each faction. Not the total players in the server which includes AFK seeders who haven't selected a faction.

Seeding often involves players joining and being away from keyboard (AFK). We ask that AFK seeders remain on the Faction Select screen. This helps to maintain even sides for Active players. The idle time kick triggers are adjusted accordingly. As such, admins may move AFK players between teams during seeding to ensure there is enough active players on each side.

Some maps are not conducive to seeding, (such as Offensive maps). Please contact an admin (in-game or Discord) if you would like the map changed. Admins may change the maps at convenient times at their discretion for the benefit of seeding.

Notes & Info

There may be instances where the rules can be exploited, and boundaries pushed, these will be reviewed by the admin on a case-by-case basis under the proviso of promoting fair-play. The rules are not designed to cover poor strategic choices by the team.

We encourage users to open a ticket in Discord or via our website in order to resolve all grievances. Discussion of bans or rules in-game is considered poor etiquette.

When streaming HLL:VV, it is recommended that you run a map overlay or delay.

Stream sniping is considered an exploit of the game and will be punished as such.
