April 23, 200915 yr In Russia.. An estimated 55 million Russians died in ww2. Over nearly a 4 year period. Roughly 1450 days. Works out about 38,000 a day.
April 23, 200915 yr russian officers sent the men into die . and the people who retreated where gunned down by there own men. If you think D-Day was Bad the russian losses are a whole new level Shocking http://i.imgur.com/798rp.png http://i46.tinypic.com/v2wmlz.png Close Air Support excellence
April 23, 200915 yr The average/expected lifespan of a private in the Russian Army sent in to the Battle of Stalingrad was 24 hours. Edited April 23, 200915 yr by mandatory05 "When you have to kill a man, it costs nothing to be polite." - Winston Churchill
April 24, 200915 yr well russia could spit out 1,000,000 new troops every year by 1944 and germany could only get to 300,000 by 1944.... so with those odds the russians were gonna win by numbers alone, they could afford more deaths.... but im not condoning or agreeing with their tactics. a quick bit of useless trivia.... on D-Day when the British landed at Juno beach they had a whole group of German soldiers surrender to them. These soldiers hadnt even fired a shot. It took the next 24hrs for a Translator to be found that could speak Korean! Yes thats right Koreans, in Normandy, fighting for the Germans. First conscripted by the Japanese, they surrended to Russians. They were conscripted by the russians, and shipped over to Europes eastern front where they surrended to the Germans. Conscripted by the Germans they put into a regiment that was defending the Atlantic Wall, in Normandy! October 27, 200915 yr Not only did the russian soldiers have a average life span of 24 hours, During the cold war, The russians decided they would make a little. uhhhh.... Thing. Say, That if the cold war went hot, and the average life span for a T-72 was 15 minutes... They would need X many tanks... So them being russian. They made thousands of tanks... This must be true, because a real russian told me

October 27, 200915 yr The laws of the universe cannot account for this strange occurrence! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
October 27, 200915 yr greyfox is right on that one. totally true, that's why the life span on the v-engines on a t-55 was only 600hrs before they needed servicing or replacing. the russians simply didn't think they would last long enough. mind you the v-engines where so easy to repair i have heard of boot soles being use as seals.
October 27, 200915 yr a quick bit of useless trivia.... on D-Day when the British landed at Juno beach they had a whole group of German soldiers surrender to them. Juno beach was NOT a British landing beach. There where two British Divisions there however, the rest where Canadian. October 27, 200915 yr Well there is something to can debate to the end of the earth. I suppose a more politically correct and polite way of saying it is that it was a commonwealth forces landing beach. At the end of the day when the English Empire declared war the commonwealth/dominion forces all went with it. http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa188/VisOne_Photo/Signatures%20and%20Banners/VisP.png
October 27, 200915 yr Everyone knows that the Canadians, Australians, and New Zealanders are just clones of the British made to do their bidding.
October 27, 200915 yr At the end of the day when the English Empire declared war the commonwealth/dominion forces all went with it. That was true in Canada for the 1st World War but not for the second. I am not sure on the political climate of Australia but Canada in 1939 when war broke out was completely independent and the choice to go to Britains aid was solely ours to make. Not that we even considered for a second not going, hell we even declared war on the Japanese a full week before the Americans did after Pearl Harbour! A buddy is a buddy and we're up for a tangle if you mess with one. There is no debate on Juno beach, the commanders where ours, the bulk of the fighting force where ours and the distinction of pushing farther in land then any other participants is ours as well. It was also handy to have all those French Canadians (who definitely do not consider themselves British) including my grandfather, we where able to avoid a lot of mine fields thanks to the common language with the locals. Edit/// In Russia........ they make good pron.
