dont know how many of you have yahoo as a homepage but there is a headline on there about pirates who have hijacked a tanker and want 20 million or they will blow it up . it states that the ship is surrounded by us warships and has a russian frigate heading towards it . this could get interesting .

The ship is full of Military Hardware like big-ass tanks

yeah it was bound for kenya! and the americans have been told by the kenyans that they can use any force nesscary!

I remember reading something recently about how much piracy of the coast of Africa has cost international traders this year alone in lost cargo and ransom and it was a whopping large sum.

so why the russian frigate heading towards them?

Because Russia can for the yeck of it?

go spec ops on there ass, hijack the boat and spank their bottoms

aaah , the crew are ukranian , either way the ruskies are a bit slow getting there .

pretty sure they have to motor boat all the way there

the American have a fleet off that part of africa all year round to prevent this sort of thing happening! but every year the international shipping companies loose millions to pirates off the coast!

 

 

with this latest incident its the larges and with its cargo the biggest amount of goods stolen by pirates. i believe the russians are there because the boat is ukrainian, but also because NATO has agreed to help support the Americans fleet in the area!

If I was one of the pirates i would hook the ship up to blow on a dead man switch. Then I'd have a manual method and some other remote method of setting it off.

 

I'm pretty sure that screws any method costing less then 20mil out the window.

lol i love the naivety of the situation, whats that barge worth to begin with, and surely the tanks alone are worth more than $606,000 each. once you've got it go for broke, $200m and get some real spending money.

 

am i the only one who sees the potential here, park the tanks on the deck, single crew them and blast the yanks out of the water

eh, allowing them to resupply with food and water, what kind of standoff is this. let them starve then take the cargo.
