Fair call champsky but in the future please leave it be, that aside I personally don't find it that surprising considering something can be staring you right in the face for ages before you even notice it.

It will be good for him to go home. I wonder if he was dead before he hit the ground or did the Japanese find him. I hope it was the former.

 

I'm also sure he was Allied, the Japanese didn't wear chutes often as it was an admission of the possibility of defeat.
