Bugs and Wildlife Must be in your house or within the property line

A bottle top for scale would be good, and make it more fun.

especially if its hard to get the bottle top in the shot ;).

Bugs, self explanatory.

Wildlife, anything that is not a pet .

Goliath stick insect.

Woke me up at about 2am in the morning with one of its legs stuck in a spider web outside my window, banging against the metal fly-screen. Scared the crap out of me considering i was still half asleep and had no idea what it was at the time:wacko:

Didn't get a picture of mine since it flew in before this thread started but one of them accosted me when Delta was coming around late one night a couple of weeks back.

In other news the snake has left my back yard.

that a golden orb Moon?

Vis, I dunno if I could live with something like that in the backyard. It's one thing having them there - quite another to know that there's a big freaking nest there...

ughh I hate snakes..

Also, no mention of Mr Lizard sitting on the fence watching the snake 'leave' in reverse...

I have no pictures to show for this, however I will share it for your general amusement. The wife was woken by Fries Jnr rushing into the bedroom all happy and excited holding something in his hand. Exclaiming "Look mummy, I have a new friend!" he then proceeds to place a cockroach on her pillow. It took her a few seconds to realise what it was due to not having her glasses on before telling him to get it off her pillow and out of the bedroom.

She said that she didn't kill it nor could she get angry at him as he was so happy and pleased with himself. Much laughing was had by myself when she told me.

Nah long story short around decemberish of last year I was down in the back right hand corner of my yard shoveling some dog land mines into the compost heap when the neighbor popped up on the other side of the fence and said be careful of the snake.

I was like what snake? The one that suns itself around here? Why should I care it's not here right now.

He moved that little branch on the hibiscus shown in the right hand side of that photo and was POW SNAKE NEST WITH SNAKE ON IT!

And I'm like off there you go maybe I will worry about it then.

I like snakes and I know they keep mice and what not away but my missus is not so keen. So I double checked with the council if they would move it. Everyone said no if it's on a clutch of eggs it needs to be a serious risk or we are not touching it. I knew it was a just a East Coast Carpet Python and therefore not dangerous even to the dog so I left it.

Anyway it was on that clutch of eggs for almost 3 or more months and I knew something was very wrong with that. I thought she was going to die rather than give up on them. However eventually she called it a day and went on her merry way. The eggs where either improperly fertilised or poorly incubated. Either way the hoe and a little dry retching later they were just more fertiliser for the compost heap.

Either way no one got hurt that and bold as brass Eastern Water Dragon and he's slightly smaller mate still call that part of the yard home.

Anecdotally my mother has a bloody big Red Bellied Black Snake under her house. We don't even think of moving it 1. Because they will bloody kill you and 2. They also eat other snakes, including those of their own species. So they keep the bloody Eastern Brown's away and anyone with a dog, children or any love of their house or yard knows that is not a bad thing!

Oh Man :(.

The silly damn thing moved from the Front yard where it was yesterday and into the back yard.

Where there is a dog.

RIP Lizardman. :cry2:

:puppy: :stick:

I was wondering why she was acting like she had been doing something naughty when I got home then I saw the blood on her and found Lizardman in several pieces down by the lemon tree., but dogs do dog things.

Like the time one of the chickens poked its head too far outa the Chicken run at the wrong time.

I told the minions it dropped all its feathers and ran away... :animal_rooster: , only the youngest believed me I think.

Christ I hope that is dead Noddy.
“The biggest troublemaker you'll probably ever have to deal with,"Watches you from the mirror every morning'.”

I used to have a massive one in the shed, he was my spiderbro.

He kept the garage relatively clean of other bugs which was cool. One day in a fit of rage I lost my temper and kicked him, killed him.

RIP Spider bro
