I came across this video of some old PR maps and remember playing some good old classics. I can remember as far back as the old Al basrah and sunset city maps.

 

What are you fondest memories of PR?

 

Mine is the first time i blew up a tank with an arty ied.... oohhh the tension on waiting to see if it would come close to it or see me and blow me to pieces, what a rush when i blew it up

Mine is when I was a newbie, like letting the US get docks in Muttrah 0.4 just so we all got a chance to shoot at each other, and Hills of Hamyong when I went commander (back when the Arty was still like in BF2 and you could lead squads in behind it with the right peps following your directions..) and the Brits got up the dam hill and capped out the Mec team instead of getting slaughtered for a change.. .

this is exactly why pr and the big d community is so different from other games/servers/communities

I loved that Chinese jungle map with the bridge.

 

When no one turned down their graphics to get rid of the grass it was epic. Nothing more fun than running through the bush straight into the enemy who is equally surprised. Spray and pray, grenades flying and good laughs.

 

One of my favorite maps. Too bad they got rid of it.

Pretty sure Smokey is referring to Operation Ghost Train. Which suffered a great deal if people could see through the only cover the long grass.

OGT is in the holiday map pack and currently in rotation.

OGT is a throwback to the past - had a bloody good scrap on that last night. Threw in a few failed frontal assaults across the bridge to the dismay of my section.

Made it across the bridge and made a bit of a bridgehead only to be pushed off by waves of chinese. Vapo and I rolled out the warrior which fared a little better up until the point where we wore a HAT

I guess i'm the few people who played old operation archer , the fort back then was completely destructible and looked more like a modern fort then the medieval one we know now.

My memory is when I first started playing PR the map you use to parachute into as the British with the hangers. There is a video that Photoshop made of one of the nights we had a huge fire fight in the hanger area.

It was called Airport ,

I've been looking over old PR posts and found the old trailers for 0.5 and 0.6. Certainly brings back memories of good times.

most people around here are allways keen.. do what i have done for a few events here any there.. pick a date create a forum post asking for sign ups and detailing maps and times.. and let the people generate some interest.

 

usually give my self 2 weeks out befor the game but shoot for it mate.
