yep thats what the problem is capped to 64kb internet connection - so 1998.

 

And its only the 18th - long way till the end of the month..

Is there a like a little trick or somthing to stop this from happening? i've been capp'd and wont get ADSL2 back for like a week. PB keeps doing the kick, even though my ping is fine. after about 10-20 mins of play up comes the 2 minute kick. I really dont wanna have to miss tonights match

Frenzal...you are with bigpond right..?,you can get a "one off"(during contract) 4 gig top up ,which they really don't publicise much..

 

I don't know if you can do it out of business hours,but its worth a try.

 

Bigpond technical services 13 3933,just pretend you don't know your capped and then ask about the 4 gig top up...

You can top up with Internode as well.

 

I usually leave 2GB handy until the very end of the month (my end of month is the 27th, starts from when you first started the service). I went on a spree yesterday and now have 1.39GB left. I also use a program called MUM which keeps a percentage in my tray so I always know where I am at.

 

As for stopping the kicking, you could try disabling everything that uses the internet, besides BF2 but I'm assuming the upstream and downstream tubes are clogged with information and PB can't get a look in. Could disable ingame VOIP too but that would be besides the point of playing a team game if you can't talk to anyone.

 

Lesson is: Watch the amount you download.

I know that with iinet you can log into your account and check how much you've downloaded (toolbox -> account tools -> volume usage). It even breaks it down into days and whether the content you downloaded was in your freezone, onpeak or offpeak.

More depends on who you talk to on the phone, and how much sway you have with them. Whether it's a weekend, and a paki on the line I find also will be dependent on Great Success!!!

I have a uncappable plan, and I get it. I would like to reinstall XP. and see if that fixes it, by giving it a clean out. but it has only happened since I have installed PR 0.756

I quite playing probably 4 months ago now, due to same problems, but its not capped downloads. Just cant get a good connection to the server anymore, its one problem or another that happened all of a sudden..

 

Every 5mins I was droped out, lost connection or lost packets. Not good enough for playing conditions so had no choice but to stop playing.

 

Its a problem related to my internet connection and the gsa servers some how.. So till I change internet provider (when telsta updates the exchange to adsl2, 6months? 12months? who knows..).. Ill stick with arma, it has plenty of aussie servers.

Guys who are getting capped, you really have to keep an eye on your day to day quota, or else you'll have things like this happen. I suggest making the move to firefox away from IE if you're still using it, and then installing this addon:

It has most of the major ISPs, and fetches your data on the hour, giving you a great breakdown of everything you need to know about your quota.

Type pb_sleep 500 then press enter

then type pb_writecfg and press enter.

 

Makes pb check every 500 seconds instead of every 20? I think 20 is the default.

 

Not alot you can do when you are capped.

Yep, console in game. Sorry. And the writecfg saves it so you never have to do it again.

 

Note: 500 is the largest value you can choose.

i get 20 gig of download a month and dont find it a problem . just make sure you save a few !

Im not with telstra, Im with wix. Waiting for TELSTRA to update my exchange so I can go to adsl2, but right now only optus is in on it and charging top dollar for adsl2 since no other company is compeiting with them.

 

When I change that should solve problems, but Id say the game will be to old by then to consider playing again, as I dont expect telstra to update it anytime soon.
