Right just reformatted and have WIN 7 Ultimate 64 bit running now I have a few questions like for example how do I know it has all the right drivers and what not for my CPU, GPU, Motherboard ETC ETC ETC.

How do I make the bloody desktop icons smaller.

And more to come me thinks.

Right click desktop -> View -> Small Icons

Next go to Properties of start menu -> Taskbar tab -> Use Small Icons, Taskbar buttons Never combine -> customize notification area = Always show all icons.

For the drivers, go to your motherboard manufacturer's website and download the windows 7 x64 suite of drivers for your hardware. Don't forget your ATI/Nvidia drivers as well from their respective sites.

Where does WIN 7 tell you its downloading/downloaded or installed drivers for your hardware? I'm know about the Windows updates it tells you about them and windows software but nothing about hardware.

It uses generic drivers unless you overwrite them with the manufacturer ones afaik.

If it's a gigabyte board, go here

If it's an asus board, go here

If it's something else, google the name + drivers

When I installed Wi7 my computer it installed all the drivers by itself. Only thing I had to do myself was put on the CCC
