You know the old saying, if it is too good to be true – it isnt!

Hello mate,thanks for the swift response, i am buying the car as a birthday gift for dad and i am at sea at the moment as i am a marine engineer and due to the nature of my work,phone calls making and visiting of website are restricted but i squeezed out time to check this advert and send you an email regarding it. I really want the car to be a surprise for dad so i wont let him know anything about the car until it gets delivered to him , i am sure he will be more than happy with the car.I insisted on paypal because i don't have access to my bank account online as i don't have internet banking, but i can pay from my PayPal account, as i have my bank a/c attached to it,i have your PayPal email and i will make the payment soon and i will let you know when the payment has been made.

This caused some concerns... The police dont want to know as there has been no crime committed. The ACCC dont work weekends, & as the email traced back to Sunnyvale CA in the USA, I have made a report to the FBI..

I will be warning Paypal next.

 

 

From what I can tell, they overpay you on paypal, ask for the balance back, probably into a different account & issue a dispute on Paypal to stop the funds. While this dispute is going in the background, they change thier mind on the purchase & get you to transfer the funds back..

Some slight variations on every instance. If you copy some of the email content into google or simular, the list & variations are endless..

Good thing you caught up on it Andy would hate to see you get scammed. Hope it all works out fine for you.

The report a scam site is so basic it almost looks like a scam site itself. Now if it asks me for money who am I going to report the report a scam site too? The report a scam website for reporting a scam website. OHH GOD I think I just divided by zero.

There is also cases of people Stealing someone elses personal details and buying cars from these sites(contact via email with possibly stolen credit cards), IMHO best to avoid this whole area.

I have a pick up agent that will come for the pick up after payments has been sorted. l will be waiting for your reply asap

I've had my beemer on sale ($20,500 if anyone's interested ) for a while and have had 2 of these scams land in my inbox. They keep coming at the wrong time when I just don't have the chance to come up with an awesome reply (see andy's response!).
