Posted April 24, 201015 yr Be warned Gents..:db: Selling my car on carsales.com.au. Received an enquiry via email: I got one yesterday & this morning. I was excited of the prospect, but then reality hit me along with my wife. You know the old saying, if it is too good to be true – it isnt! Here is my example. Hi, i was just viewing your listing and i will love to purchase it. I am willing to make an offer of $10,500 for it,Payment will be through PayPal and the pick up will be arranged. Cheers I responded as I had recently just reduced the price & thought it be the honest thing to do, Hi Geofry, Thats great news, when would you like to come down & have a look? I realize you are offering $10500 & to be honest with you, I want to sell the vehicle this weekend. With that in mind, I reduced the price last night to $9990 so am prepared to let it go at that price for a quick sale. I have a valid paypal account via my email address. We actually live in Cra***, but, can meet at our parents house in A*** Park if this is better for you. Please let me know where you would like to mee & at what time, I can give you the address by return email. Best Rgds Andrew This Morning, I got the following, Hello mate, thanks for the swift response, i am buying the car as a birthday gift for dad and i am at sea at the moment as i am a marine engineer and due to the nature of my work, phone calls making and visiting of website are restricted but i squeezed out time to check this advert and send you an email regarding it. I really want the car to be a surprise for dad so i wont let him know anything about the car until it gets delivered to him , i am sure he will be more than happy with the car.I insisted on paypal because i don't have access to my bank account online as i don't have internet banking, but i can pay from my PayPal account, as i have my bank a/c attached to it,i have your PayPal email and i will make the payment soon and i will let you know when the payment has been made. Thanks. This caused some concerns... The police dont want to know as there has been no crime committed. The ACCC dont work weekends, & as the email traced back to Sunnyvale CA in the USA, I have made a report to the FBI.. I will be warning Paypal next. From what I can tell, they overpay you on paypal, ask for the balance back, probably into a different account & issue a dispute on Paypal to stop the funds. While this dispute is going in the background, they change thier mind on the purchase & get you to transfer the funds back.. Some slight variations on every instance. If you copy some of the email content into google or simular, the list & variations are endless.. http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/OperationCrownRibbon02.jpghttp://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/valorousunit.bmp

The report a scam site is so basic it almost looks like a scam site itself. Now if it asks me for money who am I going to report the report a scam site too? The report a scam website for reporting a scam website. OHH GOD I think I just divided by zero. http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa188/VisOne_Photo/Signatures%20and%20Banners/VisP.png

April 26, 201015 yr Author I dont believe it... Another one, this time from Mark Smith <markqv10@googlemail.com> Hi thanks for the reply, I am buying this for my son as a surprise gift and due to the nature of my job as a ship captain I can only pay through paypal at the moment as i dont have access to my bank account online, but i have it attached to my paypal account, and this is why i insisted on using paypal to pay,all i will need is your paypal email address to make the payments, and if you dont have a paypal account yet, you can set one up at www.paypal.com it cant take you less than 3mins to do that, i will be expecting your paypal email so l can pay. I have a pick up agent that will come for the pick up after payments has been sorted. l will be waiting for your reply asap These guys are starting to annoy me... Looks like I may have to to reduce the price again to get some interest from real buyers.. Here is the response that my wife & I sent back Dear Mark, Due to the nature of my job (Klingon Warrior) I’m unable to accept Paypal at this moment in time due to the galactic universal crises, therefore will only accept Klingon Darsek's, which seems to be the only currency not effected by any financial crises. Mate, Just because we come from Australia, doesn't mean we are stupid, unlike some f***h***s (like you) that try to scam folks trying to sell a car.. So, F*** OFF! you IDIOT! PS. All your details, header & tracelogs have been sent to ASIC & the FBI... Put the kettle on & buy yourself a soap on the rope, you may need it. April 27, 201014 yr Private Consumer:- Important Notice for Private Sellers: Please be aware that there is a phishing scam running currently with some buyers only operating through their Pay Pal account. If the buyer advises that they do not have internet banking and have a pick up agent that requires a payment from you, then this is not a legitimate enquiry. http://helpcentre.carsales.com.au/help/contact-us/ http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee118/bahlye/bahlye007/mouse_zps73307fb2.gif
