S.T.A.L.K.E.R Problem!!

 

Oh hello, Well recently i managed to get a copy of STALKER shadow of chernobyl >

Anyways after installing and downloading the patch my game did not run at all.

So what happens is i double click the execute file, the mouse pointer turns into the load Pointer for about 2 seconds then back to normal, Game does not start at all.

So i tried installing the patch which then resulted in this \/

My Specs:

E8500 3.17ghz

4GB ram 800mhz

Inno3d GTX 260

Windows Vista Ultimate x64bit

 

I have all the latest sound card, Video Card, DirectX drivers.

I have UAC turned off and tried running the game/patch in Compatibility mode and in Run as Administrator mode which all had the same results.

Any help would be awsome .

Yeah i forgot to say im capped, So if you would be able to link me to the patches i need ill do a fresh reinstall and download them overnight sir.

 

Its a pain the ass trying to find patches with dial-up internet.

STALKER is an awesome single player FPS game mate, keep trying - it's worth it.

yeah its really Immersive , it will scare the **** of out you. Still does for me ( a mod made more beefy!! )

Yeah, love scary games .

New 7.1 Speakers are gona make me pop my pants playing this im guessing haha.

FEAR 2 is a blast too play at 2 in the morning, Is STALKER kinda like Fallout 3 but alot scarier?

I still have not been able to patch the game ive downloaded 1.3 Patch got the same problem.

STALKER is not RPG/FPS hybrid, more just straight FPS but customisation is via gear you can get.

 

It is a much more intense and tactical experience than Fallout 3, IMO - I actually preferred it to F3. Yes it is scarier. It's a shame some ppl let a few bugs (now mostly ironed out, esp in the mods) get in the way of one of the best single player FPS games ever.

I got STALKER Clear Sky coming aswell the reason i bough a copy of chernobyl.

Still have not been able to fix it may post this on the STALKER forums .

Yeh you will save alot more ammo instead of wasting a clip on one guy but back to helping blackie now i think. I have had problems like this before and i just clicked it walked off for 15min's and it worked worth a shot i guess

Installed up to the 1.0006 or whatever it is, Complete 2009 1.4.3 and the Realistic Weapons mod.

Yeh no problem i have bad net so i download over night tell me if it is good.

Would have to be the most immersive FPS/RP game(s) I have played. About to get the 3rd in the story line and give that a crack.

So far, so good.

 

At first I was disappointed with the 'realism' weapons but it turns out it's just the pistols that suck. The first time you pick up an AK74, that's when the fun starts.

 

Playing on 'Master' difficulty makes it tough, if an enemy gets a good drop on you or a close-up shotgun blast, it's over. And you need to remember to manually save before/after every decent battle, just in case.

 

As for the new textures/graphics, I struggle to remember what it was like beforehand but it runs well and looks very good (my vidcard struggles when it rains but it looks sexy). No bugs yet.

 

All in all, I'm liking the mod and the secondary mod, will probably give Borderlands the flick and concentrate on this. PR has lost it's shine atm.

I'm glad you like the mod im looking foward to playing it but my dad has closed the download 2 nights in a row now....

looks good might get it when it comes out in Aus the one thing I love about the series is the accents their great

not really the right thread but i played through stalker and the complete mod to the finish as a loner with a minimum of side missions.

 

impressed. a lot more smoother than the original, more enjoyable. did encounter some 'bugs' with the ai of some npc/enemies, as in, you could enter the freedom base and kill everyone there without any fighting back, besides the snipers.

 

last stage before entering to the wish granter was unbelievably hard, took me many goes to get through it. made it to the ladder with 27 rounds of g36 and a pistol.

 

anyway, i recommend playing it again with the complete mod and the realism weapons mod.

 

next up, i will go the side missions and maybe play as duty.

i really should dust this game off and give it another run. I might wait untill i get a new pc that can fun it properly thou

when i saw this thread it inspired me to reinstall and actualy try and finish it this time

I got Chernobyl for 1.95 or so...have to say im a little disappointed as it just sorta repeats over and over, or am i playing it wrong? and it seems really hard to kill the baddies.

 

I did feel really guilty for a while cos i toasted a neutral guy by accident and still took all his stuff.
