So I've noticed that the playerbase has been a bit thinner since the release of MW2, not hugely but noticeably so.

Just a quick poll to see how many of you have been swept away with the MW2 madness borne mainly out of my own curiosity.

Of course I'm sure you'll all be back after the CoD fever wears off. ;)

I have been playing it (MW2) a little bit...

I have actually been working like a dog for the last few weeks...

and travelling interstate, etc... not been playing PR because you have to

give it an hour or three to enjoy it and MW2 you can just jump in and out

for a few minutes...

I find PR much more intense... also with the beta changes coming I have

been a little reticent to have to learn whatever new things I need to know,

to be honest... mainly not playing PR coz I am just dog-tired from working hard.

no interest in the game but you didn't leave much room for movement. maybe a choice like;

no, there is nothing better than pr at the moment.

but after that rubberbanding tonight, i might have a few days off.

You've already ruined these forums for me, I have no desire to read your rhetoric or the pathetic arguments you get yourself in to, or the personal vendetta you have against me, so please, do not talk to me. Ever. About anything.

This poll it needs another option. One that allows the self loathing MW2 players like myself to be self deprecating while admitting they are playing it instead of PR. Anyway MW2 is working for me since I don't have an hour or two to commit to PR at this present moment.

I mainly meant who hasn't been playing PR recently because they have been pouring their time into MW2 (or another game).

Of course there is nothing better than PR, like anyone is questioning that. Blasphemy!! :p

My novelty wore off after level 30 mutiplayer.. im back.. you just cant match PR

i guy i introd this game to i used to work with always gives me curry on xfire saying "why do you play that itty game" .. i have to just say... it's for the leet man... you wouldnt get it... he is fixed on playing FC2 coz of its graphics.. he is a fiend of that game but... I said No, but another recent release has my attention ATM. Its only for now cos its all new and that. Once the novelty wears off ill be bak. Unless i buy assassins creed 2 first, which means i will have somethin else to hold my attention while the need for pr slowly returns

yes it is awesome haha.. but i def wouldnt say its stealing the player base i mean the 10 or so of us that have been playing it day in day out!. dosent really put a dent in the player base that is all the teams that were in the last ladder alot of us havent really been playing PR befor mw2 was out anyways

it has taken me away from PR, its made flaws of the current versions even more obvious then usual making me afraid to even go into the server at the thought of raging.

though after playing over 50hrs in the span of less then a week im purely burnt myself out of all games atm.

good thing too, i got plently of assignments and exams in the next 3 weeks.

Yeah, I have to admit I am hooked on MW2 as well. It kind of suits my time range atm too. Not quite as much available so this game lets me cut loose for an hour without letting down the lads in the weeds.

haven't been playing MW2 (although considering picking it up for when I have a free 15 minutes to screw around with a few times a week), but Iv been pretty burnt out on PR since the ladder - only play 1-2 times on the pub servers every fortnight or so now - bring on 0.9 soon :(

Ive finished the single player so im on PR again, but my friend is borrowing my BF2 (he's going to buy his own copy soon) to play PR cause he so desperatly wants to play it, so if you see less of me, thats why.

BTW my mates name is Tazza (I think), please be nice to him cause he's kinda noob to PR.

I think the decline in numbers is because people just cbf. Sure, some of you play for the gameplay but playing the same maps day in day out kills some people inside, and the /b/ FFFFFUUUUU will apply.
Yea servers only really kick off in the evening which is the (only) period I can't devote to playing.
Short and sweet is all I have time for, PR goes for too long with just one map for me to play as much as I would like.

PR will never be able to keep up with the general gamer because they don´t get paid to do it as a full time job. Just watched a few of the vids for mw 2 and it looks good but realism is quite low and it looks spammy. The catch is it´s new and shiny and PR will not have this until the new engine is introduced.

IMO, there is no reason why the community should be dropping numbers if people play this mod for the right reasons and with the correct gameplay. It doesn´t appear the the Australian player base is that strongly supportive of what PR has to offer or the servers need to be run in a way that provides more interest to the players rather than adding new content to the game itself.

Same as MW1. it'll be neat to play the single player through. And then multiplay a bit, but not before you realise its a total spamfest and no significant gameplay dynamic has changed with the game since cod first came out. (apart from the asset options in MW...but I mean...cough)

And yeah its true. PR will lag in technicial terms by virtue of it being a free mod. But therein lies the beauty of mods. They have the freedom and creativity to shape the possibility of gaming. CS, BF2, Teamfortress (ctf) etc they all have had their genesis in free mods, and mods are where I think boundaries of engines and ideas are sometimes really pushed.

Ahhh its just a fad...once ppl clock the SP, they'll be back cuz the MP is almost identical to the first one...I know I did.

Could also be that the PR season just finished and ppl are having a bit of a break

they're both entirely different games, I play both, well waiting till I am unbanned from pr, PR is something I like to plan with mates so we can get squads together, mw2 is good for some quick fun matches.

PR has a much more hardcore mature community, MW2 is much more casual for the mainstream audience. PR is more underground and people will be back for sure.

they're both entirely different games, I play both...

Ditto. One will define gameplay mechanics, voip integration, and other new and exciting features. And the other will rehash what has been, give you some eye candy...and make millions, leaving you high dry and less $90**

** dont get me wrong, ima buy the sucker when its cheap, play it and feel the sameway i did about the first one. an amazing movie experience, but id rather the popcorn and the friends***

*** hypocritical i know****

**** actually you could see probably the same amount of movies for the same price for the same amount of time. Whats it take to clock MW2, 10 hours? 15 hours. So what, thats like $90 @ 15 bucks a ticket for a 1.5 hour movie. 6 movies, times...uh 9 hours. so yeah. its about relative. not including multiplayer, because that aint the movie experience...you end up sacrificing the same amount of money, for the comprimise of lonely interactivity, vs friends and popcorn TIMES SIX.*****

***** Totally buying MW2

I was reading quotes from game reviewers that clocked MW2 on hard in 5 hours, without rushing. So you would definitely get more bang for buck from a few good movies.

Maybe if your were just going for the SP, and you have a 360 or PS3, rent it? You'll only need it for one day.
