Performance benchmark thread

 

all i wanted was a quick and easy benchmark for the i7 guys to show me how amazing their cpu's are, and i read about wprime and it's simple enough....

 

i7 guys.

 

run this at 32m.

it's a benchmark, tell me what you get. for reference, my e8400, whilst typing this, timed

 

20.203

 

my e8400 also got around 20ish seconds....maybe were comparing different scans? weird

 

My i7 920 recorded 9.564seconds

 

Time taken: 9.44 seconds

Process completed in 9.44 seconds.

Test completed successfully.

 

 

There you go, I did the 32M one.

I don't procrastinate. I just like to do things later.

    Well also take into account if we're comparing your OC'd E8400 with the unknown i7s, maybe these guys have OC'd in which case fair call, but both @ stock speeds I wonder if the proportion will remain the same (price - performance)

    for an extra $300 I could have had a 950 with 10% more speed (see ina666 benchmark 8.765)

     

    for a whopping $1000 more (retail $1400) I could have had a 975 ...

     

    (Not overclocked, but did have to fix the memory speed to 1600 as the board on auto had it set mega slow)

    Not overclocked, wouldn't mind seeing the difference if I did OC it - but im not really in the mood to go fiddling with my BIOS and stuff something up at the moment
