Modern Warfare 2: fps issue

 

Alrighty.

 

I have been experiancing lag on maps including:

 

Favela

Estate

High Rise

Invasion

Karachi

Quarry

Sub base

 

(haven played rust, underground or rundown yet)

 

What happens when i dont host:

 

All other maps are fine, no lag whatsoever. The best way i can describe the lag is; if you were walking constantly blinking with somone behind you moving your head and body in a different direction each time. (my screen does not go black)

 

or, another way; it is skipping frames.

 

I encountered this problem in Call of duty 4, on maps like

 

wet work

bloc

backlot

 

and a few others.

 

My Computer is:

 

ATI 4890

I7-920

6gb ddr3 ram

500 gig hdd

 

thats all of the top of my head.

 

any help from you guru's would be very appreiciated.

 

What happens when i do: (+ single player)

 

when im hosting on these maps the whole game enters slow-motion, for other players as well, which is kind of cool but gets to be rather annoying, and the slow-motion-slowing depends on what im looking at.

mate i have not experienced this problem, only in little increments where the game itself would slow down to resync with the others. in most cases i think it is your server host giving you the problem as i have a lower spec sys than you but mine runs great, although there are a few factors u notice b4 the game does these things, ie.. server migration

Is it an upload speed issue with your nets ?

I'm pretty sure it's MF2's networking, if your the host of a game, your relaying data to everyone playing in the game, so it's safe to say your processor is going to get pwned not to mention your upload bandwidth. Consoles are a little different because their main feature is having tons of cores.

but why do i get lag in single player? i shouldent be uploading anything. And why do i get identical lag in Call of duty 4?

updated your drivers?

^ done that, i havent done the realtek one yet though. But to be honest i have no idea what realtek is. is it sound? could sound be causing this?

Yes Realtek would be your inbuilt motherboard soundcard. Best bet is to update it anyway.

updated all drivers, still getting choppy lag on all maps, and have concluded it happens when i am near alot of objects on larger maps, especially water

graphics settings particularly AA?

 

AA, Anisotropic filtering and the such can cause problems for fps

graphics settings dont make a difference, ive put everything down to 0, and still get it, where do i change AF? i couldent find it

i was able to get round the last mission CTD by lowering my advanced video setting to normal instead of extra... it sucks to not be able to have it on full but least it works great.

Erhmm..

 

I'm pretty sure that your computer can confidently run everything maximun without any hassles at all. there is probally a glitch, bug or some other problem other then settings.

 

Af = texture filtering , it's set to automatic somewhere if you cant see the sub menus.

You having this problem with other games because it could be a heating issue

can i have that in a pauline hansen mode.... PLZ EXPLAIN ! i cant even find the location of the EXE.... it takes me to Steam when i "open file location"
