Has anyone here had to deal with a 40km over speeding issue in Western Australia. If so what can i expect ....

Speed camera ?, and was it your car ?...and what the hell were you doing 40 over the limit for in the first place...??!!!.

 

If you are lucky you will get a HUGE fine and probably lose your licence..if you are unlucky you will get both AND lose the car.

speed camera, and going in to cop shop in 1 hour 15mins sigh.. Mates brother got multi'ed 51 over, lost license for 6months but only 150$ fine, didnt lose car either, god i hope im remotely as lucky. I can live with a huge fine, but loss of license will pretty much screw the next year up for me.

well they didnt take my car thankgod, up to $1000 dollar fine and min loss of license of 3months and max of 12. Cop said im more or less looking at the min if i explain my circumstances with regards to Uni and work but then again depends on court.

If in the worst case scenario you do lose your license, you may be able to apply for special conditions so that you can still travel within certain time frames along certain routes, so that you can travel to/from work and University.

 

Your best bet would be to wait for the notification in the mail, then get a lawyer and discuss with them what's likely to happen, and what you can do to lessen the impact on your professional career (University included).

in my opinion speeding should be on a race track and nowhere else. My brother died in a car crash (passenger) which involved an excessive amount of speed. You can learn the lucky way and walk away, or not at all because your in a coffin.

40km over man come on... thats just stupid. The speed limit is there not because you HAVE to go that fast but because you CAN go that fast. Wipe off 5 means 5km/h UNDER the designated speed limit. I've seem some horrendous crashes in my time, many were due to speeding and believe me you don't want to be the cars when you crash or at least whats was left of them...

 

Personally I cant believe you would come on here almost bragging about it

Get off your high horse. You still haven't stated that it was a stupid thing to do. All your worried about this your immediate future, what if you actually hurt someone, or even killed someone? Then would you feel the need to feel like you did something wrong?

 

The way your coming off to me is some young, spoiled child who doesn't care of the effect your actions have, as long as you get what you want.

 

About the 'almost bragging' - yeah coming onto a public forum, asking how others dealt with a absurd speeding offence does very much look like you felt quite up yourself.

 

Like I stated before, I hope they give you the highest penatly they can, and I hope you can learn from your screw up and not go out and break the law because next time you may not be so lucky, you may just hurt someone or worse, kill someone.

Also further more.. Why do punishments for crimes exist? Its not a matter of revenge or any of the sorts. It's atonement. I'd be most happy with minimal punishment and a lesson well learnt...
