So from Kirk nice little post it sounded like you can apply to be an admin. Is this true?

 

i have seen nowhere in the forums that indicates this and thought it was purely an invite only club.

From my experiences from being an admin in other games its generally an invite only practice. You "prove" yourself to be a good person and a contributor to the community in question and you are picked to be an admin. I think the same applies for this community.

Yes you can apply for admin, Darth posed up some basic guidelines a few months back in a thread about something... cant remember the name and cbf trying to dig it up.

We are always on the lookout for ingame admins and if you feel that you want to contribute then send either myself, Bahlye or EvilRooter a PM and we will look at it.

 

Be aware that there are a few criteria.

 

* You must be mature and able to admin fairly even if they are your friends / clan mates.

* Not have been banned or restricted on the forums or servers for not playing in the spirit of the community.

* Play on a semi regular basis. (a couple of times a week)

* accept that your game time will be interrupted at the most inappropriate time to deal with an admin issue.

Well the Account at our Web Host is in his name, and we do pay to have the Forums hosted there.

As for the App's to become an Admin..we have a subforum in the HA area where we post them, we then discuss the merits of said app and make a decision based on our knowledge of them both as a player and a Forum member.

 

The successful ones get "probie" status ,and a chance at becoming a full In game Admin...the unsuccessful ones don't.

The powers that be have the control and they like to keep it that way and until we are presented with a better option, that is far more transparent and run by the community for the community, we have to play and forum by the rules that they decide are best.

I appologise, i didnt know the forum was owned by Uncle Darth, i honestly thought "BigD" was a Company, who ran servers, and got advertising thru this forum, and other forums, i thought they owned the server, and thus i thought that Admins here were like community monitors, and accountable to company owners.

 

I was wrong, and thus appologise to Uncle Darth for comming into his website and critisizing his rules, or even openly asking if i could join the team.

 

I vote Gekko as Head Admin, as he gave me a simple answer with thought, and didnt just ban me.

 

Dont forget guys...you maybe admins, you may own the forum, but NOONE ever won a war with an Evil Hammer (ok maybe a Hammer and Sycle...but not just a Hammer lol)

 

Im getting alot of warnings from people, that i may get perma-kicked/banned/shunned for my application and voice, but note...this is the internet, and people see every single post for along time, and in business, and marketing, NOONE accepts dictatorship, and all countries embrace democracy.

I would not trust the UN to decide this, because I am guessing that Australia and The USA are in these 28 and they are definitely not fully democratic, no matter how much they say they are.

Soooo...where do I sign

Even if you combine the first 3 sub-categories and call them all "Democratic" for the sake of argument, nearly %40 of the world's population STILL live under authoritarian regimes and for the most part there's nothing wrong with that. It's just the way that their culture and society has evolved and if that's the way they want it, then good for them. If a country truelly wants to break it's "oppressive" government, then they will revolt as has happened since governments were first conceived.

 

Ofcourse if they want to come to the Democratic shindig and dip their toes in our clean pool, then I whole heartedly endorse that, because we as a nation have proven that it's a stable and (despite my not agreeing with some of the things the two governments I've had as a young adult have done) a tried and true method of governing our nation fairly.

 

I was high lighting the absurdity in the statement that "all countries embrace democracy". No, they don't. It's a choice and alot of people don't choose democracy. Then again, for alot of people it isn't a choice and they don't get to choose as to how their government is run ... but then again, one could counter that argument by saying that their choice is made by whether or not they stay in the country, or move elsewhere.

 

For the record, I love our Democracy. I love our Nation and I wouldn't have it any other way. However, I also respect other peoples diversity.

Yer, yet someone got one of my posts banned because it was an award winning campaign for helping those affected by war. Won awards the world over but that's not quite democratic enough.

As long as you're born into the majority section of society, and stfu, you have nothing to worry about in our so called democracy. If your born at the wrong end of the stick I'm sure you'd have a bit more to say about it.

 

Compared to the rest of the world we are lucky that our situation isn't worse than it could be and that's the game they play.

 

They can do anything they want as long as they keep people stupid enough to accept what they dish out and back flip as soon as they realise that they have pushed too hard....no person in power will ever forget what happened to the queen of france.

I do not own the community and i dont consider i own the website, yes i was there at the start and put alot of hard work into making it into something. The rules are not "MY" rules, they are from a group of admins over the years, from the community who have asked for changes, rulings and boundries. I appreciate you appologising but it should not be directed at me. PEople may consider me the head guy but i would like to think that the admin team as a group makes the rules and the community has the ability to aks for or recommend change. It only takes a PM or post asking an admin to bring something up.
