Posted November 1, 200915 yr http://www.shatteredhorizon.com/ this looks really cool would describe it as space cod. Graphics look nice. Will be keeping my eye on this xD ________________________________________________________________________________ Shattered Horizon is a multiplayer shooter played in zero gravity. Join your friends in intense 32 player battles to control hollowed-out asteroids, huge fragments of Moon rock and the ruined remains of the International Space Station. Familiar and intuitive FPS controls let you take full advantage of these distinctive environments. Use your rocket pack to move freely through space and then land on any surface. Engage enemies in furious firefights, or ambush them from unexpected angles. Zero gravity offers you freedom of movement that cannot be found in any other game. Attacks can come from any direction so keep your eyes peeled for the telltale signs of enemy movement. With your rifle at the ready you can handle anything the enemy can throw at you. A rapid fire weapon with a generous clip, it is both accurate and deadly at medium range. The stealthier combatant can engage the weapon's scope and prime the chamber with a powerful 10 shot burst, lethal over longer distances. And for those who like to get up close and personal, the rifle's retractable bayonet is a fearsome tool in the right hands. Fire ICE grenades to provide cover or be more aggressive by using EMP grenades to disable enemy electronics or MPRs to blast enemies out of cover. Your weapon will save your life so hang on to it. If you let go of your gun, chances are you're already dead. http://i.imgur.com/798rp.png http://i46.tinypic.com/v2wmlz.png Close Air Support excellence

November 1, 200915 yr Interesting I wonder what the sound will be like. If your near constantly in zero gravity space suits you would not hear your weapon firing often and could virtually never hear someone firing at you. The lack of audio indication of the enemy will certainly make for some twitchy moments. http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa188/VisOne_Photo/Signatures%20and%20Banners/VisP.png

Or will they just make the gun sounds echo . . . be lame if there was no noise, really lame. http://i574.photobucket.com/albums/ss187/Chanvlan/new_kit.jpg yeah but this is the internet' date=' you have to expect the unexpected or else you'll get caught out by things you should've expected but didn't. November 2, 200915 yr Futuremark !!! omg.. finally something that may test our rigs eh !! any other games from this company or this their first ? In August 2008, at the Leipzig Games Convention, Futuremark Games Studio announced details of their first game, Shattered Horizon.[7] source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Futuremark http://i.imgur.com/ebwNl.png The Nomula: nom = 3(nom) or 3nom :. nom = nomnomnom :. nomnomnom + omnnom^2 - nom = omnnomnomnomomn _____________________2nom( 1/2 nom) Oh' date=' and i shottie having gunners mutant epic PR playing children[/quote']
November 2, 200915 yr Looks interesting. First person shooter Mario Galaxy. Ya, the sound may be a little odd. Sound also travels through solid objects so you would be able to hear your gun but only because the sound travels through the gun and into the suite. Also standing on a large metal frames would be noisy with all those bullets and space debris hitting it, but as soon as you hop of its quiet. With all the sounds being so quiet the person would soon start to pick up on the slightest thud. Earn respect don't demand it.

November 2, 200915 yr i think for this one they might to go for convinience > Realism xD Along with the obvious problem of guns in space. http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h72/mott_photos/bigdcopy.jpg

November 2, 200915 yr It looks like a really good idea. Then again Far Cry 2 looked like a really good idea, and we all know how that turned out. [sIGPIC]C:\Users\Alex\Pictures\Forum Avatars\RealityMod\SuperHind-BigD.jpg[/sIGPIC]

November 2, 200915 yr Call me an idiot but whats the problem with guns in space? Very simpley; No Oxygen, can't ignite gunpowder. I saw this game on Steam a couple of days ago. Looks pretty unique, might be fun. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://i793.photobucket.com/albums/yy213/Frenzal/ANZ.png

November 2, 200915 yr Very simpley; No Oxygen, can't ignite gunpowder. I saw this game on Steam a couple of days ago. Looks pretty unique, might be fun. that is a good point. Will be interesting to see if they release any "science" behind this http://i574.photobucket.com/albums/ss187/Chanvlan/new_kit.jpg yeah but this is the internet' date=' you have to expect the unexpected or else you'll get caught out by things you should've expected but didn't. November 2, 200915 yr Very simpley; No Oxygen, can't ignite gunpowder. Conflicting information on this. Most reasoning says you could use a normal cartridge firing weapon in space without issue. Because the oxygen needed to ignite the powder is stored within the airtight cartridge already. The real problem is not oxygen it actually comes from the fact in space there are often extreme temperature variations. The different components of a weapon might cool down so much that they would no longer feeling move in the correct way causing blockage's and possible catastrophic back fires or causing rounds to cook off in the weapon itself. The other end might be if the weapon is fired often you might cause unwanted heat build up that would not dissipate especially if the weapon is being used in highly irradiated areas. In the end I personally don't know. I have read some sources about the Russians having taken weapons into space a number of times but that is generally on international missions to counter "espionage" and other silly reasons. I don't think they were intend for use during space walks more in the international space stations. Anyway the science behind the idea is interesting but not really necessary they can avoid these issues if they want and just make it a normal game without lasers and where you can hear people shooting even though you really probably would not hear them. http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa188/VisOne_Photo/Signatures%20and%20Banners/VisP.png

November 2, 200915 yr Yeah well you come to a forum based around a modification for an arcade game that is called PROJECT REALITY you have to expect to see stuff like this. :ill: http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa188/VisOne_Photo/Signatures%20and%20Banners/VisP.png
November 2, 200915 yr reminds me a bit of that old, f2p FPS - tribes or something...dunno if anyone remembers it/ever played i loved tribes over lan man !! used to go to a net cafe and play a 12 hour settup with 60 other players for 12 bux (years ago) when CS was the "in" thing [WC] Tpr.Chrisso06 http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/armouredservice.bmp "My other ride is an ASLAV" http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/7264/newtanksig.jpg
November 3, 200915 yr Gunpowder uses an oxidiser, gaseous oxygen is infact unwanted inside bullets (it tends to make the gunpowder burn, not explode). The only issue I see with guns in space is heat dissipation, you'd either need some decent black-body radiators connected to the barrel or to shoot them more like rockets. Tribes 2 is still available (FREE) btw, I play it every couple of weeks or so with fellow SAgoons. http://www.tribesnext.com/
November 5, 200915 yr I just saw this game is now available on Steam for $20 US. Also it requires Vista or Windows 7 with DirectX 10 doesnt support XP or DirectX 9
