just a thought, i got an hour lunch at my new job and its boring as so i want to get a new phone with the net... and touch screen, am not to fussed on the Camera MP and i want good Memory

 

if you guys use a good one and would recommend or not recommend i would appreciate the help.

Well.... The iPhone has a touch screen. interbutts & cool apps. Never used one though lol, I have myself a Nokia N95. Very fun to play with

been thinking the iPhone myself as an update, have a N95 8Gb, bored with it and the fact you have to buy games is a major sux0r! GPS is 10 x the gay as well as if you want to use moving maps you need to subscribe to Nokia to get it. you can work around it to get the GPS working but you have to move the map yourself and it only jumps to the next waypoint (haven't tried any other software like Tomtom or Garmin etc tho).

 

i'm in a similar boat Christos, camera doesn't phase me too much but is handy, my main thing is big memory so i can listen to mp3s. battery is also a good thing too which i heard is an iPhone weakness (nightly charges aparently).

iphone is no good for anyone clumsy drop it once or twice but no third time lucky usually the screen shatters.

I got the N97 back in July, picked it over the iPhone because i've always had nokias and i liked the idea of a solid keyboard vs touch keys.

HTC touch HD! i rate it... but windows mobile is a bit annoying at times!

 

 

iphone for ease of apple user friendliness.... iphone has its great points same as

HTC and blackberry.... i use the HTC and like it... but just like any phone.... it all down to personal choice cause they are very very similar these days

I personally have a Nokia E71, and I quite enjoy it. It does everything I want it to do.

 

I have had a play around with:

 

• HTC Touch Diamond - Piece of junk, mostly because of the windows mobile operating system.

• HTC Magic (or Hero?) - Quite a nifty phone, does most things pretty quickly. Didn't get to explore the Android OS too much, but first impression is pretty good.

• iPhone - Overrated, I'd prefer my E71.
  

I have played around with some of the older Blackberry devices, and I quite enjoy them. They are powerful and easy to use.

so where will i find mad widgets for my N97 ?

think Nokia has an appstore type thing as well . . . never used tho myself.

I just went from a n95 to a iPhone 3gs. Loving it so far, my only major prob is that due to apples tight terms and conditions adobe flash isn't allowed to work on iPhones. So any flash heavy websites including flash player don't run on iPhones .

Other than that they are great.

All of the current crop of 'smartphones' have good and bad to them. You just need to weigh up what you will get the most use out of.

 

I got myself an iphone and jailbroke it, it is sooooo much better once you dont have Steve Jobs telling you 'no you cant do that' gives you alot of options to customize and brings som much more functionality.

Can we keep it open i really enjoyed this thread and i'd love to read any updates, i might buy a new phone in the next year or so - i'm in no rush unless my current phone breaks/disappears/falls into the harbour again..
