Posted September 18, 200915 yr Hey PR crew, For some reason I CTD frequently, no reason given, I am certain it is a Video hardware error of some kind. In the past, turning off dynamic lighting and shading has fixed the problem but since the new patch the same scenario occurs with the lighting/shading turned on or off, frustrating as, especially when flying a jet or crewing a vehicle. Any ideas?? Specs... i7 6 gb ram vista 64 xfx 295 Whole lotta love http://theauxiliaries.net/images/auxsubmox.png
September 18, 200915 yr I had a similar problem. I changed settings with no effect. I then reinstalled PR with patch and that fixed it. September 18, 200915 yr I'm inclined to go with Lingus completely remove all PR and BF2 related files and do a fresh reinstall. A full reformat would be better but that is your call. Also check you have stable drivers for you video card. http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa188/VisOne_Photo/Signatures%20and%20Banners/VisP.png
September 18, 200915 yr If you're CTDing, you should run the game in a window until you CTD, at which point it should give you an error message (hopefully), at which point you can track down the sauce of the errors http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee94/psyrus_uraya/awards-1.png QFT: Your computer is smart man. September 18, 200915 yr Submox finally joins the forums!! I had the same problem, with a similar set-up and like lingus said a reinstall might be the answer. http://www.users.on.net/~philc/tasmsig.php
September 18, 200915 yr waaaah.. nowhere is safe btw... do what Lingus said http://i783.photobucket.com/albums/yy116/IINoddyII/aux1_zpsab5224fd.png
September 18, 200915 yr do what psyrus said, firstly. have you changed any graphics settings lately... http://imgur.com/e5y6e.gif You've already ruined these forums for me, I have no desire to read your rhetoric or the pathetic arguments you get yourself in to, or the personal vendetta you have against me, so please, do not talk to me. Ever. About anything.
September 18, 200915 yr Try putting your textures to medium and see if that fixes it. OR you could try deleting your graphics cache, go into My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\cache and delete those two folders. Edited September 18, 200915 yr by YAK [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

September 28, 200915 yr Author Thanks for all the suggestions fellas, unfortunately no success, only thing left is a reformat, not going to happen. Using a window did give me an error message, display driver error dvkkddnlv ( something like that ), not uncommon with vista, seems to be some confusion about what causes this error, anyway, cheers for the help, see u all in game, giggity goo http://theauxiliaries.net/images/auxsubmox.png
