Well its been out a day and I have a serious issue..

 

I just finished playing my first game, which was nice. Wanted to test some of the Alt-Tab work arounds when I quit the server. So on the menu after i disconnected I hit Ctrl Esc and it bought me to my desktop and then I returned to a black screen with a mouse.. So it didnt work.

 

I was then interested in seeing if anyone was playing on server 1 so after I had Ctrl Alt Deleted and shut down BF2.exe and pr.exe I restarted PR only to be faced with a black screen with a mouse on it... waited 5 minuets nothing...

alt-tab won't work , its the string attached with the bonus packs

BF2 v1.5 broke alt-tab, it's got nothing to do with PR v0.87.

If you disable AA you can alt-tab while in game. If you change your res in game to a widescreen res pr has a fit. It works fine in vanilla, but not with PR. So stick to enabling widescreen with the shortcut extension.

 

EDIT: And if you want to have AA enabled you can still alt-tab, but you have to press esc before you alt tab.

I haven't even tried to alt tab and I get the same thing. All I did was install 0.87 and when I started up... Black screen with white mouse, nothing else

 

Tested BF2 1.5 patch, can load into BF2 and join BF2 games perfectly fine.

Cant even load the game. After clicking the the .exe it just takes to a black screen with the pr Curser. Same as what Shotty's getting.

I've got the same issue - black screen - white mouse.

Do I have to reinstall?

I was happily ALT+TABbing... and I changed my res a few times in the options (as opposed to shortcut).

Surely there is another way other than reinstalling!?!

All I did was install 1.5 and 0.87 and when I started up... faded out menus with mouse pointer, then i alt -tab and show PR not responding.

You could try deleting your My Documents/Battlefield 2 folder, loading BF2, retrieving your profile, quit, then load up PR?

Same thing, except it becomes non responsive if you click off the window

Tried restarting? UAC disabled? Turned of all open programs including firewall/anti-virus?

DICE have said that BF2 will not support alt-tab anymore.

+1 having same issue. Not keen on fresh install. Put the noggans to work I say.

 

Oh and I was alt-tabbing all the time with AA turned off in today game. No issues or was there?

Your issues are when you first load pr right? You aren't loading and it works fine, then alt-tab and come back into a nonresponsive game? Because alt-tab is unsupported, and an unresponsive game is what you're going to get.

Its on the load of the game. Worked first time and the second time it didn't and hasn't since.

I can alt tab from 1.5 no issues, you just have to turn AA off. Problem with PR now is that it wont load, black screen and white cursor shows. First time running after patching it worked fine. Quit game and attempt to open it again for some more PR goodness and the problem occurs.

 

I am running win xp, so no UAC stuff to play with. Gag is on vista, UAC stuff off and is having the same issue.

A-man your is working right? if so where did you download it from? Was it from GSA/bigdgaming or another source. Just making sure its not a corrupted file that we Downloaded.

Restart - No change

 

UAC has always and will always be off on my computers

 

ESET nod32 disabled + firewall off - No change

I just installed the 1.5 patch, then the PR 0.87 patch and was welcomed by a big, black screen and a mouse curser too.

 

Did not alt/tab...just loaded it and didnt even get to play once.
