Although this has been mentioned a number of times in a few different situations its never had a thread of its own or been up for discussion. The question is simply enough do you believe that there is a actual ability to pin down troops in this modification. I personally believe that there isn't in the wide sense that you have in reality from squad level weapons, indirect fire artillery etc and direct fire tanks or sighted weapons. Simply because even though project reality incurs a much higher spawn time than most games when you die there still isn't enough to warrant not trying to rush the enemy. Even in games such as counter strike where your death can have you sitting out that round of game play for what can be a very long time does pinning work. A really good example of how people don't give a flying wazzo about there spawn was the mod's ver 6.0 beta when you killed a civilian you incurred a heavy spawn penalty yet people gunned them down with immunity.
However I regress in one way the only physical sense I've seen a one player pin down another or bring to bear so much fire power that they were forced to withdraw is when one player has a tank and the other has no weapon capable of harming said tank. I seriously question players who get limited kits because and base there selection on 'my ability to pin down the enemy' not once have I seen tangible evidence of a support kit, sniper or marksmen halt and pin a enemy squad. Personally I know that if there first shot does not kill that player they have instantly given away there position and most likely that of there squad.
So what I put forward instead of the pinning down the enemy its more prudent to lay an ambush where having overwhelming fire power is not necessary although it certainly doesn't hurt to have it. No my thinking that given the technology of today that is gaming that surprise is still your greatest ally and to effectively combat enemy troops and squads its best to have a killing ground and ambush them once 2 or more enter it. Of course this isn't always something that can be obtained but the principles roll over to most situations and boil down to don't shoot until your very sure you can obtain the kill and the likely hood of giving away your position is at its least.
So that's my feelings on the matter so lets see what you all have to think, usual rules apply try to keep it on topic and were not here to flame any ones ideas or opinions.
