Posted August 5, 200915 yr I've got a problem with what I call 'shadow dots' that appear every time I'm on the move or looking around and they're bloody annoying! All settings are on high and I've tried different variations of dynamic light/shadows to no effect. I had a feeling I'd seen the same problem posted before but couldn't find anything. Anyone come across this on their BF2 travels? http://h.imagehost.org/0449/screen001.jpg http://a.imagehost.org/0997/screen013.jpg http://h.imagehost.org/view/0379/screen016
August 5, 200915 yr Looks like it might be artefacting which is often caused by excess heat build up in your PC case. http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa188/VisOne_Photo/Signatures%20and%20Banners/VisP.png
August 5, 200915 yr Yep, either heat or the RAM is going. To take heat out of the equation, take side of case off and direct air onto the vid card whilst you are playing. If that doesn't help, it's time for a new video card. BUT, change/update your drivers before you take that path. Update DirectX etc. Edit: And remove all the dust with a compressed air can. August 5, 200915 yr I had the exact same thing. If your on ATI try reinstalling ATT or CCC or a new driver version. Fixed it for me http://i.imgur.com/rfTYp.png
August 5, 200915 yr Author Yeah I've got an ati 4850 only a couple months old so hopefully it's not dying, i'll try reinstalling CCC, haven't had any trouble with other games yet.
August 5, 200915 yr I know, but mine were exactly the same and had nothing to do with heat. When i played on low graphics settings or if I turned AA to full they would go away. Try updating to some beta drivers or reinstall the current ones if CCC doesnt help. DO NOT FORGET TO CLEAN DRIVERS http://i.imgur.com/rfTYp.png
August 5, 200915 yr Fair enough - I wonder which drivers he's using...what set did you have trouble with? HAHA - I just read what it said in the screenshot.. Edited August 5, 200915 yr by seo iphone [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
