I need microsoft word.

I need to get some stuff on my rig that isn't just gaming. It's silly to go to a net cafe to edit my CV.

Send me a pm.

Thanks.

problem is a lot of employers specify what format the cv / resume must be in.... and assuming there is a plugin which will allow open office documents to be opened in ms word - how many tech savvy employers are out there who would know to do this?d

you can save as a .doc in OpenOffice. Very good program imo, use it at home as i cant find a licensed copy of 2003 anywhere (HATE 2007!)

I think Google Docs will even allow a save in .doc. So if you don't want to download OpenOffice, you can use the web-based stuff. I've tried it for small documents, it works fine.

Latest OpenOffice has Aussie spellcheck built-in finally. Google Docs can use the Firefox spell check.

Edit: If you need Office as you won't use the free alternative AusPost can come through in 3-5 working days.

You've already ruined these forums for me, I have no desire to read your rhetoric or the pathetic arguments you get yourself in to, or the personal vendetta you have against me, so please, do not talk to me. Ever. About anything.

Another vote for open office if you dont wanna pay for microsoft stuff.
Fear is another word for weakness.

Open Office is good, I prefer Office but Open is just as good and does all that.

You do not need to get any addons or compatibility packs, Open Office is completely compatible with Microsoft office formats and you can even save documents in Microsoft office formats.

Orders starting with SOMEBODY usually wind up being completed by NOBODY.
get open office, its open source and built very very similar to Microsoft stuff

Open Office is fine. Free. Free. Free.

The previous version had a super-slow right-click popup menu but that is fixed now.

Screw Microsoft.

I turned on the PC this morning and there was a Java update waiting.

With it was a link to a download of Open Office :).

I thought that was a happy coincidence.

Haha Open Office ftw as has already been said.

No real need for MS word etc now with other free alternatives that do exactly the same thing.

FEAR ME I AM PITA BREAD

I use Open Office for school.

I just need a way to set the default file save as a .doc and not a openoffice document.
