This is what I have been quoted: Option 1 Midi Tower Chassis incl 350W PSU Intel BLKDQ45CB Motherboard Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 2.66GHz CPU 8GB Kingston 800Mhz DDR2 RAM Seagate 1TB SATA Hard Disk Drive Asus Radeon HD4890 1GB DDR5 PCI-e Graphics Card LG 22x SATA DVD-RW Drive Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit OEM Build, Installation and Testing $1769.00 Option 2 Midi Tower Chassis Enhance 500W PSU Intel BLKDX58SO Motherboard Intel Core i7 920 2.66GHz CPU 6GB Kingston 1333Mhz DDR3 RAM Seagate 1TB SATA Hard Disk Drive Asus Radeon HD4890 1GB DDR5 PCI-e Graphics Card LG 22x SATA DVD-RW Drive Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit OEM Build, Installation and Testing $2269.00 Cheers, Wal Edited July 20, 200915 yr by SAS_Archer
July 20, 200915 yr Overpriced!!!!!!!!!! What's your budget? Edit: Lol @ 350W PSU & HD4890 http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee94/psyrus_uraya/awards-1.png QFT: Your computer is smart man. July 20, 200915 yr Just wondering. I'm no expert on building computers and stuff, but if those PSU's come with the case, I'd be thinking about buying a case that doesn't include a PSU and buy an aftermarket one such as Corsair. Basically because they are usually quiter, more reliable, harder to break/better warranty etc. http://i.imgur.com/DtNdckc.png [WC]Xavo|xXx:
July 20, 200915 yr yeh..a 350 Watt won't handle that card. I had a 500 watt psu and it didn't like trying to run my 4890.... Thats only with the "auto tune O/C cranked and all settings on high, otherwise it coped but a 350 won't Soz WallyJ... http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee118/bahlye/bahlye007/mouse_zps73307fb2.gif
July 20, 200915 yr Author Well my budget will stretch for option two .... so the 500w PSU is in that. What about the rest eg graphics card etc? I would really appreciate constructive comments like "this is good but I would change this to that" type things thanks.
July 20, 200915 yr Go for a TX650 by Corsair. Built a similar setup to your option 1 for work (used for 3d rendering and CAD) a month ago. Difference being my work one has a Q9550. Initially, I thought a 500w Gigabyte PSU was enough but the whole darn thing drew too much from the 12v rails so I ended up buying another PSU (the corsair TX650). EDIT!: Just as a warning to you, my 4890 didn't like my ASUS G2412 24" screen on DVI and is currently using Dsub (horrible horrible but I get by it). My 4890 refuses to show anything beyond the Vista loading screen, just the POST messages. "Apparently" it dates back a fair bit and is known to occur on Nvidia cards as well. If anyone knows a work around, please share! Edited July 20, 200915 yr by Stoked24 http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/merc.bmp On the topic of shiny auscam... the sound they made while bush walking made it seem like I was doing mean things to little furry animals inside my pants
July 20, 200915 yr Ignore both options!!!!! Build your own, or get a reputable computer store to build one for you. One that won't charge the earth. http://imgur.com/e5y6e.gif You've already ruined these forums for me, I have no desire to read your rhetoric or the pathetic arguments you get yourself in to, or the personal vendetta you have against me, so please, do not talk to me. July 24, 200915 yr Haha awesome wally, great to hear. Did you end up building it yourself? What was your total cost (i hope it wasn't too much, I specced you up pretty high )? And yes, the twelve hundred is awesome http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee94/psyrus_uraya/1200/DSC03113.jpg http://s235.photobucket.com/albums/ee94/psyrus_uraya/1200/?albumview=slideshow You will grow to LOVE the fan filters because you'll see how much dust would usually be entering your case. http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee94/psyrus_uraya/awards-1.png QFT: Your computer is smart man. July 24, 200915 yr Author Hehe ... it cost a bucket load but no biggy, it's my only vice I didn't have to buy a monitor as I already have a Samsung 2243sw. So a bit was saved there. Now I need to order ARMA 2 :)

Cheers, Wal Note: For those that need a visual ahh , a ANTEC 1200 gaming case i have that, its very heavy to move and ahrd to put in place . But however i can't power the fans dude to life support on my machine ( not enough leads because i resort to using a Spare PSU). We should start a club for those have leet cases [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC][WC]Private http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/valorousunit.bmphttp://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/armouredservice.bmp http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/2315/ubd4327.png http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/6780/blackmagikzwc.png "A tank is like a fat timid kid at a dance party , always too shay to get into the action and ask a girl to dance with him and always backs down after every approach" -Some Marine Capitan i forgot- Iwo Jima
July 24, 200915 yr Which graphics card did you end up choosing, 4890 or GTX275? If you put the graphics card fan @ 50-100%, is it highly audible? What is the noise level of the PSU? Is the corei7 stock HSF quiet enough? You know you can adjust the 1200 fan speeds right? I use all on low. When are you starting to overclock ? Edit: I ask because I plan on making a similar upgrade in the near future when I save up a little more Current spec: q6600 @3.2ghz 6gb ddr2 8800GT HX520 to i7 920 6gb ddr3 gtx275 or 285 HX850 (new corsair psu, pending a silentpcreview since their dB rating is at 25dB for the new one on their product page which sux... you don't want any more than 17-20dB on a PSU imo) Edited July 24, 200915 yr by Husker http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee94/psyrus_uraya/awards-1.png QFT: Your computer is smart man. July 24, 200915 yr Psyrus is that you old rig in the bottom right? and I agree on the fan filters I was amazed to see how much dust gets stuck in them over a week It's not good. "Aerodynamics are for people who cannot build engines"...... Enzo Ferrari unicorns are awesome!
July 25, 200915 yr Psyrus is that you old rig in the bottom right? and I agree on the fan filters I was amazed to see how much dust gets stuck in them over a week It's not good. Yeah that's the old one, turned it into a fileserver & torrentbox. It hosts my web server, torrents, 12 player PR server, FTP & remote desktop 5x500GB so far, might change them to 5x1TB when I get enough money http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee94/psyrus_uraya/awards-1.png QFT: Your computer is smart man. July 27, 200915 yr Author Hey Psyrus ...... not sure how yo measure the sound .. but it is pretty quiet. Maybe you need to pop over sometime. does anyone have any idea on how I get 64bit drivers for my Logitech cordless joystick?
July 27, 200915 yr MAGIC! 64 bit drivers good luck. I think you might have to go external i.e. Logitech most likely doesn't even make em. http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa188/VisOne_Photo/Signatures%20and%20Banners/VisP.png
