I am sure there is another OLD thread on this topic, but am interested in the here & now...

Could you all do a report like this along with speed test result from this site http://www.speedtest.net/ It is certainly of interest to me & am sure you would all be curious to.

I Live in the northern suburbs of Adelaide (Craigmore - Playford Rise) a reasonably new sub division..6-7 year old house, so I cant get ADSL2 (thanks Telstra!) & opted for a ADSL1 8000k connection with Adam Internet.

I am mostly happy until recently when I get ping spikes in PR of up to 600+... Normally I play at between 24 - 60odd ping.

I did a speed test this morning..

Internode ADSL1 8000k. A long way from the exchange, attenuation some of the highest I have ever seen in a Whirlpool thread (that's not a good thing).

Tested from my laptop, with the router downstairs and with a 'poor' or 'low' connection on wireless.

Sorry, ping is 61-63 on BigD. That's just distance related. I used to ping 11 on the old 3FL QLD DC server.

You've already ruined these forums for me, I have no desire to read your rhetoric or the pathetic arguments you get yourself in to, or the personal vendetta you have against me, so please, do not talk to me. Ever. About anything.

iPrimus serious 5

512/128 ADSL

Adequate connection tbh. I can play any game on this without a hitch. BF2/PR ping is usually 30-45ms.

Location: Rowville, Melbourne.

I can't get ADSL2, so I am stuck with this until they stretch the cable a bit further.

In 2 and a half months I'll have my 30 down 10 up guarenteed, uncontended Fibre To The Home.

Awwwwwww yeah.

Edit: Uncontended not due to the technology being implemented, but because of the volume the carrier has decided to deploy with.

yeah but this is the internet' date=' you have to expect the unexpected or else you'll get caught out by things you should've expected but didn't. Its exactly like knowing about the stuff you dont know about, that way you know theres stuff you dont know so when you know what you dont know you can say "ah i knew that!"[/quote']

This is with Telstra "High Speed Cable" which is inconsistent as hell, drops out without warning, rhyme or reason and the largest plan they have is 25GB basically I am a very sad 24 month contracted panda. :(

Instead of posting the picture, can you give some details of what you are posting. What speed plan, ADSL1 or 2, distance from exchange etc.

I have had it to 13MB/s - 0.9MB/s.

ADSL2+, iiNet. Most reliable ISP I have ever experienced. My connection has not dropped out once in about 2 months. Before that my modem would just reconnect so its possible it did but with this new modem it doesn't reconnect without me pulling out a cable from the back. So 2 - 3 months without dropping out EVER !

Best part of iiNet, more free content than you can poke a stick at. More than any other ISP.

I have a 15/30GB quota so 45 GB's and I use it all. Some months I can download 60 - 70 GB's without going over my cap by using freezone data.

Orders starting with SOMEBODY usually wind up being completed by NOBODY.

Speaking from an NZ view (theres a few of us here I'm sure :p) I get these pings with Telstra Clear:

Within NZ:

http://www.speedtest.net/result/479597806.png

To Aussie:

http://www.speedtest.net/result/479598818.png

I am on a 4mb down, 2mb up connection. Pings are normally very consistent. However, I play CoD4 as a clan and the scrim servers are on a range of IPs that Telstra Clear cannot seem to get right. For the past 4 months I have played at 200-220 ping on them (making it seem impossible to shoot anyone). I woulda expected them to fix it in this time so when I asked them whats going on, I get told the only fix is to change ISP :(

GG Telstra Clear.
