May 1, 200915 yr nice cat, i had a friend do gap year the start of it is great but he got bad selections to do for the rest of the year (working in the kitchen and something else he hated) hope it goes well for you!
May 1, 200915 yr Guys honestly join the Reserves instead of GAP year, less bollocking around and you can leave if you hate it [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
May 2, 200915 yr GAP Year is useless, Army get's barely anything out of it. What they should be doing is making Reserves more enticing. Most kids just do what you are doing, go in for one year and that's it. It's a WOFTAM. If you want experience, go get a fulltime job, or join the Reserves like AllYourBase suggested. You'll get more out of it. Edited May 2, 200915 yr by Espionage CaptainCleanoff on the servers.
May 2, 200915 yr but he wont get paid as much to do reserves for a year XD GAP year may look like a waste of time and tax payers money, hey maybe it is but its a good way of experiencing full time army and getting paid well to do it.
May 2, 200915 yr No the gap year is a great idea the real problem is the Army has limited the options of the gap year recruits so badly. The air force and navy have allot more interesting options and I'm sure will ultimately obtain better results of enlistment. http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa188/VisOne_Photo/Signatures%20and%20Banners/VisP.png
May 2, 200915 yr The GAP year is a recruiting tool, and it's a very effective one. I'll try to dig up the stats, but the defence forces retain most of their GAP year recruits. Once they're finished, they've either completed their IET's or are well on their way to completing their IET's, which means they go straight into their full time career. If they still want to do uni, alot of them head off to ADFA and get the defence force to pay for their education. I'll rummage around for the stats.
May 5, 200915 yr Author Haven't found any stats Aestabjoo? I'm interested. When in trouble or in doubt, RUN IN CIRCLES SCREAM AND SHOUT!!! http://nanourl.net/46e85
