April 17, 200916 yr nice bike man,my dad has a 1200gs,nice on beach, tracks, road.the lucky ass yeah, nice until you hit the tight single track, then a 1200 would be like driving a bus bus through the isles in woolies... not much fun and a lot of hard work But get it out on the open tracks and dirt roads and it's more than at home.. My next bike is gunna be a KTM400exc ... perfect for trails but still enough legs for highway use occasionally.. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
April 17, 200916 yr Author f800gs man.... good for smaller tracks, good for longer trips and eats up tarmac! "I mean normally we nail threads like these down harder than a swarm of ninjas with nail guns," -- Bahlye

April 17, 200916 yr Hey, a couple of those photos look familiar, the timber bridge, is that along delegate river road, after the bonang highway???? For those not familiar with that area of eastern victoria, (with phone numbers of 02 instead of 03) around tubbut / delegate, Bonang highway, 90Km's of windy gravel road, yeah wasn't i impressed when i did that trip in my eb station wagon, with no mobile coverage!!!!!!, would of enjoyed on a motorbike more. Great photos and thanks for sharing =]DI[= GbohicaL http://www.deathinc.com.au Just Call me BOHICA http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u202/midaliasteele/GbohicaL.jpg

April 17, 200916 yr Author all there is at seldom seen is a gas station. a gas station which you have never seen the likes of before! It was more like a junk yard with 2 pumps in the middle! http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn177/SgtTrip/P4120084.jpg Edited April 17, 200916 yr by Gypsy8 "I mean normally we nail threads like these down harder than a swarm of ninjas with nail guns," -- Bahlye
April 18, 200916 yr LOL i remember seldom seen, how wierd are the guys at that petrol station, and those hell-wierd sculptures they made! i went on a 236k trip from perisher to the bass straight, was all hiking/biking/canoeing though 20 days in total under our own steam. did you go through the pilot wilderness? i almost went insane, 3 days of the exact same scenery and you can't see more than 3m ahead of you on the sides of the track. looks like alot of fun mate, its a great area of australia. not to hot not too cold just right, only problem is the air is so thin :>
April 18, 200916 yr I know delegate well.... ex missus had family down that way (delegate and bendoc).... got into a drunken slanging match with the local copper (both were drunk) - missus had to drag me outta there as he was starting to get pretty agitated.... http://i783.photobucket.com/albums/yy116/IINoddyII/aux1_zpsab5224fd.png
April 18, 200916 yr Thats cool, Id love to do some travel/ camp stuff like that.. Ive done the odd half day/ full day with my old man but these days his to old for that sorta stuff lol.. bad knees/ back etc and all the rest of it due to a life time of riding offroad since he was a kid.. I also havent ridden my bike for a while (wr250f), friends sold theres for one reason or another... so Im gonna sell it.. no point keeping it an paying rego etc when Its not getting use I bought a new toy to play in the bush with tho not so long ago.. Had some rain today so went out to take it for a swim, and happened to find some very challenging tracks on the way Started pouring rain after I got outa this section.. thank god it was not wet ground at the time, was having enough trouble already with only 3 wheels on ground.. had 2 ft of air under the 4th wheel.. :S I got out to take pics so I if I rolled it Id have something to show the reason why.. lol http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/2844/editdsc02933.jpg You said 2nd hand? Those bikes look reasonbly new to me.. Not that I know anything of that type.. They just look clean'ish lol.. What year models and klms are on them? They expensive $? If I get another bike (in a few yrs time) it will be a 400 or 600 but probably not as aggresive as what I have now as its skinny and light as hell, and there for not nice on the ass for long rides lol.. And the throttle is either ON or off.. hehe. Maybe a new DRZ400 or something.. Edited April 18, 200916 yr by DoomKillsU Fear is another word for weakness.
April 18, 200916 yr Author my f650 beemer has 37,000kms on it and my dads has 48,000kms. they are both 2000 models. you can probably pick one up for around 5,500 or less. i got mine feb last yr and paid too much for it from a dealer. my dad got his in sept, and paid 6,500 from a private dealer. the new f650gs is actually the same f800gs engine, jus toned down with different gearing and larger bore on the pistons. the new 650 is about 15,990, and the 800 is 17,990. seriously i would recommend this bike to anyone, specially if your a learner. great bike to learn on! but the new f650 is not learner legal if anyone is THAT interested. they look clean cause it rained enough to wash any dirt off them.... so much that on the last leg towards home i went thru some dirty/mud puddles jus to make it look like we got dirty. plus all the dirt tracks we took were damp enough not to kick up any dust!
