My computer produces better graphics then my xbox, but the xbox is simple to play.

What do you think is better to play? and why :p.

Your opinion will be worthy for the other fans too.

Well my XBox is red-ringed half the time, so in between fixing it I'd say PC.

I go deeper than just playability.

PC's are able to do a whole lot more than a console, perhaps even help your family. A console is what it is.

There is more money for developers in consoles due to a 'harder' ability to pirate, it's easy to code for the exact same hardware, it's easy to pick it up and play, and the kids love them.

That said, all of my favourite games have been mods, or been developed originally as a mod. I don't like commercial developers and their 'safe decisions' regarding features of games. My heart belongs with a PC as I can watch the mod develop, have access to forums and then can play the game all from the one platform (with a mouse and keyboard).

You've already ruined these forums for me, I have no desire to read your rhetoric or the pathetic arguments you get yourself in to, or the personal vendetta you have against me, so please, do not talk to me. Ever. About anything.

Once PC, always PC.

Consoles have absolutely no argument over a PC; 'omg less cables and faster hardware' what a load.

Console is great if you dont like tinkering, dont want problems with hardware or compatibility etc. Just turn on and play. Tho PC usually does offer alittle bit extra if you want to pay out the extra cash, and take the risk of it crashing / incompattible errors lol.
Fear is another word for weakness.

Always have been with PC , Always will. People say its a "expensive hobby , they crash , have to install the game to play it". I've heard all the lame reasons .... :thumbsdownsmileyani

The reason why i like/what makes the PC superior to any console is its

Open architecture design

What SOP said , the range of useful things a PC can do ( which covers a lot of things )

and most importantly computing itself. Consoles tend to round up numbers when executing code or calculation , rather then crunch every single digit like a good CPU should. This the reason why you can't BOINC on consoles .

PC why because every game I have played on a next generation console has being buggy as hell and their is no way to fix it. Now if they would stop releasing buggy games it would not be a issue.

Are you kidding? My PC costs $600 bucks and it has by far better specs than an XBOX. There is only compatability issues if you're an idiot.

Just turn on and play.

Just turn on an- oh wait

http://www.thegamersbox.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/red-ring-of-death.jpg

With a console, if something goes wrong you have to wait days, WEEKS even to get it fixed, which costs an arm and a leg.

When simply, you could take your PC to your local shop and get it fixed in a day; thats if the internet doesn't solve your problem.

I agree with Dtacs

I would always choose a PC over a console. Only thing that would ever change my recommendation is if your dealing with ppl that will **** their PC up and not know how to fix anything

Good Conduct

So the thread is talking about an xbox but Id personally pick the ps3 instead of it. So with the ps3 you wont get the crash's like you do on xbox, so throw that excuse out the window.

And a console can be repaired at home to.. If you know what you are doing.. obviously you dont .. lol

..............

PC version will feature:

  • 32 player (16 vs 16) in addition to the 256 NPC squad members (8 per squad per player)
  • 8 player co-op in addition to NPC squad members
  • 4 player Campaign + single mission co-op

Console (Xbox 360 & PS3) version will feature:

  • 16 player (8 vs 8) in addition to NPC squad members
  • 4 player co-op in addition to NPC squad members
  • 4 player Campaign + single mission co-op

16 player limit on such a big (supposedly) realistic and tactical game sucks.. Not nearly enough if you ask me.. I think even 32 is a bit low.

Not much you can do if your can't fix it or your aggravate the problem because you void your warranty. Especially fun since the console manufacturers are so well know for being reasonable & trust worthy fellows.

If you know what your doing?

Who reads up on how to fix their consoles?

I'll tell you who don't, 99.9% of console players. The housewives playing WiiFit, the Kids using P90's on CoD4, and the rest of the 'im a hardcore gamer, i enjoy guitar hero and GTA4' types.

Try and find an avid PC gamer who doesn't know the inner-workings, or anything about their machine.

And of course i don't know what im doing, im not stupid enough to own a console.

Traditionally the xbox is played on a bigger screen with an easy control but with this game it sounds like its sacraficing alot compared to the PC. Crysis was a big wake up for me of what computers can do and I am very impressed.

I hope I can run flashpoint on max though.

Specs:

Intel Duel Xtreme 2.0

8800 GT 512 mb

4 GB Ram (but im running 32 bit OS. I lose .75 of a GB :()

I would upgrade your video card closer to the date.

It cost me $500 :(. Hard to see it go. I might just stick with it and see whats happens.

Still gotta pay for my car and insurance :(

I thinking maybe of a 9600 GT? or 9800. I lost touch with the graphics card market unfortunately.

Hehe, it sucks don't it. Buying computer parts is like throwing away money.

I wouldn't even think about it now until the day you realise that perhaps your card isn't enough. By then you will be able to pick and choose what you need vs your budget.

For example, atm I'm playing PR so I chose a 512mb 4850 and it does fine. It will struggle on later gen stuff but by then I may buy another mid range card if I need it.

GTS250 is a rebadged 9800GTX I think (don't quote me). Around $250. Apparently good value. Then you have your 4850/70's in the other camp.

That figure is abit WRONG. I know how to. I know others do to, Theres forums out there for it.

Saying the houswives, kids playing etc etc etc dont know how to doesnt really mean much as they wont know how to repair the hardware in a pc either.

I won best answer, thats how good I am.. So very proud!

lol

im playing on an 8600gt and i get along fine, i can upgrade if i want but i see no reason.

if your pc can handle the current next-gen games, crysis fallout and so forth, then you should be sweet.
