April 8, 200916 yr Author Come on $50 dollars for a brand new release that is a stand alone game yes that is right you don't need either Company of Heroes nor Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts to play this game. http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa188/VisOne_Photo/Signatures%20and%20Banners/VisP.png
April 8, 200916 yr yes but i have a family, mortgage an bills to pay. $20 pocket money p/month to spend on what i want . . . takes a while to save up for this unless i can convince the wife we 'need' them, i have to choose wisely what i buy. nb - wife is in the same boat too so its not like she is being a money hungry biarch stopping poor McDeth from enjoying life. i can wait anyways (o; There comes a time in every musician's life when they must decide what instrument they should master. April 8, 200916 yr It's out? I thought it wasn't released till mid/end of the month. Froth out. Gotta get to a store tomorrow. Here is a list of particularly awesome things: dogs sniping very spicy chilli cat claws on people (but still cool on cats)
April 8, 200916 yr Author Its out now but as I have just found out you can't play online until the new 2.501 patch is released which will be tomorrow the 9th. So all I can really do is wait for the giant patch and play a couple of skirmishes against the PC. Sorry McDeth for some reason I assumed you were a little younger and more flamboyant with you cash. http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa188/VisOne_Photo/Signatures%20and%20Banners/VisP.png

April 8, 200916 yr Author HAHAHAHA! Anyway I just played the new Operation Stonewall style of game play and I have to say IT ROCKS! I can't wait till my favourite modders get their hands on it because it will become insane. Its everything I love only it needs now is ZOMBIES instead of axis or allies attacking. http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa188/VisOne_Photo/Signatures%20and%20Banners/VisP.png
April 8, 200916 yr So Vis is it worth it? Many new units etc? By the way, do you get all the factions included, or is there a brand new one/s that you only get with the standalone? I might go buy it this week if its really good. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
April 8, 200916 yr Author Ok here is the break down their are NO new factions/teams their are however 2 new units for each of the existing factions. From what I under stand these new units replace existing ones and you choose what you want. An example you can replace the M10 tank destroyer (FAIL AT) with the M18 tank destroyer. (Mad AT) Along with that there is 3 new game types. More about these later anyway they are all multi player or vs CPU you can still have normal skirmish battles if you wish. Finally their is 3 new single player campaigns which I'm not going into depth about. Finally they have added a great new features called "direct-fire", where the player 'Points and shoots' (seen in Soldiers: Heroes of WWII and Men of War). Basically you can take control of a single unit and tell it to fire when you want. GAME TYPES Operation Panzerkrieg Right I have given this a go as well it does not work with single player you have to have at least 2 real players in the game otherwise nothing happens. You can play but the computer does not have any units and does nothing. - THERE IS ONLY 1 MAP AT THIS TIME! Operation Stonewall - THERE IS ONLY 1 MAP AT THIS TIME! Operation Assault - No page for this yet and I haven't played it I'm going to go try it now. However the booklet explains it as you have time to deploy and then your allowed to attack. So a little more turtling and less spam at the start of the game. EDIT: I'm currently playing it basically you are given 1 hero you can pick the usual things there are 5 I think anyway medic, commando etc etc. You level this hero while you CPU team constantly sends troops out to assault the enemy. The point is to help your CPU team win by being in the right spot at the right time. - THERE IS ONLY 1 MAP AT THIS TIME! From the little I have played so far this is worth more than the $50 dollars I spent of it and you just wait till the mod teams get their head around it BOTB will be GREAT! April 8, 200916 yr Author Edited me previous post with new info! Yeah well mate I got it today from EB I am as surprised as you are. http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa188/VisOne_Photo/Signatures%20and%20Banners/VisP.png
April 11, 200916 yr I got it off STEAM last night and had a crack after work this afternoon. Having 3 new campaigns is cool but none of them work for me. They all crash! Can play the multiplayer though and Stonewall seems like it will be crazy fun. I'm up for a game whenever anyone else is. Here is a list of particularly awesome things: dogs sniping very spicy chilli cat claws on people (but still cool on cats)
April 11, 200916 yr Can I ask, do you get bombing runs from like a B17 or Lancaster or the other American heavy bomber that got shot to the .... in daylight over Germany. http://i.imgur.com/DtNdckc.png [WC]Xavo|xXx:
April 12, 200916 yr Author No their are no heavy bombers because it would simply be too over powered. Also would not make sense since their was little true tactical bombing during WW2. Why you ask well the communication equipment and friend verse foe systems they use today simply didn't exist. Anyway There is some bombing & strafing runs from P47 Thunderbolt though. Also one of the German doctrines allows you access to Henschel Hs 129 for anti vehicle duties. http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa188/VisOne_Photo/Signatures%20and%20Banners/VisP.png
April 12, 200916 yr O, ok thanks. You could get P47 Strafing and Bombing runs in the first one which I own. Might have to invest in this new one, just another question: Is there a German campaign in the first COH? http://i.imgur.com/DtNdckc.png [WC]Xavo|xXx:
April 12, 200916 yr Author No there is a German campaign in the second expansion pack called Opposing Forces and there is 2 German campaigns in the newest expansion pack called Tales of Valor. http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa188/VisOne_Photo/Signatures%20and%20Banners/VisP.png
April 12, 200916 yr I managed to get the campaigns working last night. They're fun but they're pretty short. The Tiger Ace one is only 3 missions long. The new game modes are worth the price alone though. Stonewall rocks big balls. Played a game last night with 3 other randoms. Took about 1 1/2 hrs to finish and the last few attack waves are insane. Am looking forward to added maps for it in the future though. The direct tank battles in Panzerkrieg are pretty intense too but I've only played one game with it and didn't really know what was going on. Also, the Brits seemed to be armed with Boys rifles during the Tiger Ace campaign. Which is pretty good news if they've been included in multiplayer as it will help balance the Brits out from being the spastic faction they are now. Here is a list of particularly awesome things: dogs sniping very spicy chilli cat claws on people (but still cool on cats)
April 12, 200916 yr Author I hate the Brits they lack any breakthrough offensive units and the PIAT and Boys anti-tank rifle were both incredibly ineffective in real life. Yet the PIAT is one of the most effective man portable weapons in the game and can shoot through walls, buildings & other units. BTW Bishos the first 2 campaigns are short and I think a little easy, the last one however its really hard especially if you want the medals. April 12, 200916 yr Yeah, I'm playing through the last campaign now. They're very long missions. I dig those defensive hold off tides of enemies though. Here is a list of particularly awesome things: dogs sniping very spicy chilli cat claws on people (but still cool on cats)
