USB Mouse Hickup

Hey the last couple of weeks I've being having trouble with my MX 518 previously I have never had any issues with it at all. Infact this is my second one the only reason I replaced my old one was to trade it off onto my laptop. Anyway lately it seems that it just stops working as if it is recieving no power. I have obviously checked for the usual faults its not being pulled from its USB port, its not the port itself as it happens with all 8 of the ports on my mother board. No other USB devices drop in and out either its just the mouse.

Bastard thing is also changing sensitivty without me telling it too.

So any ideas as to what may be causing it?

If it keeps up I will probally just go out and replace it with a Cyber Snipa STINGER my friend has one and I just love it. Also just for giggle have a look at this sigh thats a bit over the top.

Could be faulty wiring or a loose connection at the base of the mouse. I know me G9 had a few problems because the wiring became a bit loose just check on it first.

edit: I've also heard the sensor on the mouse could be faulty due to a design problem with the MX 518...You might just have to replace it anyway.

Mines been good. What does Google tell you about any problems?

I'd hate for my mouse to go, keyboard is already halfway there.

You've already ruined these forums for me, I have no desire to read your rhetoric or the pathetic arguments you get yourself in to, or the personal vendetta you have against me, so please, do not talk to me. Ever. About anything.

Sounds like its turned gay like my lame laser mouse... worked fine for a year then when I got a new MS Natural keyboard it changed its sensitivity setting to "stuff you I aint workin no more"

Gave it to my daughter & she says it works fine... I reckon it got jeolous cause I got a new keyboard... Stupid mouse, should have givin it more cheese...

Yeah well I have raged at it hard and I'm buying a new mouse tomorrow and keyboard for good measure.

I've had mine for nearly 2 years now, its been real good except the lack of buttons (although it has quite a few)

Maybe you could try with the little green jack thing that came with the mouse so you can plug it straight into the mouse hole in your computer?

I just had a look around and mine doesn't either.

I was sad to see the AT keyboard port go (but AT -> PS/2 adaptors saved my beige clicky love)

The loss of serial ports made using networking kit and other items a pain the arse

But now the PS/2 ports are going too?! No more "mouse hole"?!

Gigabyte up to P-35 series still have PS/2, not sure about later revisions though.

QFT: Your computer is smart man. It tells you not to play the second worst PR map [burning Sands] (first is Wanda Shan).

QFT: if you dont get pissed off when you lose you dont care enough

I haven't looked at mobos for a while now so didn't even notice any trend toward them disappearing. Losing the serial connector sucked because when I bought my last motherboard (a P35 I think) I checked the specs to ensure it had one. When I got it however, it was a new revision of the same model and came with extra USB ports instead :-(
