Just gauging people's feelings on this subject.

Basically, do you think its ok that some people are running around as infantry, using Pilot and Crewman kits because there is less deviation on the pistol and uzi(?) these kits get.

Braaaaaaaarp!

Ah if they feel the need to try and improve their chances of getting kills by avoiding deviation good luck to them, heck no different to HAT sniping :p

Especially with some of the people flying at the moment,

IF YOU TAKE A CHOPPER DONT LAND THEN GET OUT!

I did it the other day on Al Basrah. Not by choice my chopper got cut up pretty bad by a tek.50 so i landed it. Shot the gunner of the .50 in the head then the driver. Had a bit of contact trying to negotiate my way out of the Kill zone

Then made my way to a landy and made it allll the way back to main base safely where their was a brand new APC waiting for me.

I was in an APC once and it was on fire so I bailed along with the driver and we were in hostile territory... let me tell you... the smg cant hit squat... i was less than 10m from a target and It took 1 1/2 clips to kill him

then THAT guy gets an EPIC FAIL for standing there and LETTING you change mags on him :lolabove:

There comes a time in every musician's life when they must decide what instrument they should master. Few. If any are ever worthy enough to master. The cowbell.

Interesting. Funny how deviation creates unrealistic play.

In relation to the poll (not voting), personally I would not, or never choose, the kit that makes the job of killing the lamest/easiest. If you ever played Red Orchestra, you would know why I'm a Rifleman, all the way.

You've already ruined these forums for me, I have no desire to read your rhetoric or the pathetic arguments you get yourself in to, or the personal vendetta you have against me, so please, do not talk to me. Ever. About anything.

It is bad.

From an individual point of view having a pistol or an M4 with aimpoint might (and I stress might as I find the rifles on auto to be just as good in most CQB situations) help you defeat a single enemy easier in a close range battle. However at long range these weapons range between average and useless.

From a teamwork point of view choosing a pilot or crewman kit deliberately for infantry combat is unacceptable. All of the other kits add a valuable ability to your squad/team be it AT support, healing, repairs, spare ammo, or even the simple fact that you may have grenades or a shovel.

Simply put anyone using a pilot or crewman kit because they believe the pistol or whatever is better at killing enemies is playing for himself and not the team and the kind of player I don't want in my squads.

If people are grabbing those kits.. they obviously still have the stigma that ironsight riflemen still suck the dong.

I don't mind. I dig the hat the Chinese crewman gets.

Here is a list of particularly awesome things:

dogs

sniping

very spicy chilli

cat claws on people (but still cool on cats)

I got the pilot kit once accidently on Barracuda (game was going nowhere as usual anywhere) so Wolf's probably reffering to his experience with me :p. Honestly though: pistol = more manageable close range weapon, it is and I repeat it is like hurling foam balls at enemies from a long range so it makes the user useless, and removes the functionality from a squad as wolf said.

iv never done it, but I must say the MEC Crewman guns are pretty cool

just think... is it what the devs intended? would it occur irl?

think the answer to both would be no

Thats half the reason I SL so much in 0.8, the pistol is awesome in cqb, they may not have intended for it for it to happen but as a result of their changes this has happened.

Just to clarify regarding my post, I know a lot of the time in a not so serious game (like when you are sitting on Barracuda as Chinese with nothing to do because the USMC can't get off their carrier) people sometimes grab random kits for a bit of a laugh and some fun and that is all good.

What I am referring to is some players who genuinely think that grabbing these kits in a serious game is a good thing to do, for the reasons I posted in my above post.

IMHO this is exactly the same behaviour as the good old "player joins squad and instantly grabs sniper kit" behaviour that everyone universally hates players doing.

That's cool Dogg, like I said it only ****s me when people do it in serious games.

BTW I still beat you in kills to deaths by only using my rifle compared to you using your pistol :p
