Well, #1 is a little laggy. Must be saturated.

And jeez, couldn't find caches to save our lives. Does the intel disappear after a while?

You've already ruined these forums for me, I have no desire to read your rhetoric or the pathetic arguments you get yourself in to, or the personal vendetta you have against me, so please, do not talk to me. Ever. About anything.

maybe if these number keep up we can get another server 48p maybe :thumbsupsmileyanim: maybe we should, that would be tasty :icecream:

Shoot civilians/collaborators and you lose intel points (that's -7 intel points IIRC)

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

There were 4 of us on #2 complaining how we couldn't get on #1 then all of a sudden we were at 28, good times! :)
It will last a few weeks and numbers will slide back a bit

lol someone needs to explain to the noobs the aspect of civilians. I got shot 5 times in a row as a civi with an average life span of 30 seconds before I got bored with the 120 second wait screen,

maybe we should 'adopt a new player' (note the lack of derogatory terminology - how long does a player need to be around before they are no longer considered a noob?) - invite them into your squads (yes at the expense of a regular player perhaps who should form their own squad) and show them the ropes - they might enjoy it more and hang around longer.......

I think we did that last time, I remember someone mentioning it. Good idea though and probably worth trying this time around too.

Braaaaaaaarp!

I've been helping a few out, some tell you that their new and those are usually good ones that do what their told...

But some just give me the mega <censored word> i normally kick them from my squad because they act like tards and don't listen.

ive tried and booted them from squad , so sadly i wont be adopting noobs unless they do as they are told . i am not a babysitter . i play for enjoyment and training noobs to me personally is about as enjoying as shoving sharp bamboo spikes down my fingernails :p

Interesting quote...

I don't think the word 'Noob' is constructive, and I've noted this on the Reality Mod forums sometime last year. New players is the term that we should be aiming to use, regardless of their skill or enthusiasm.

I'm not having a go at you, xxxxx, but in general we have as a community often fallen to calling new players noobs etc and I think that it's somewhat derogatory.

probably written about the time a few of us were just starting to play..... worth considering when we make people feel unwelcome either through exclusion from squads or in-game chatter.....

I'm not saying you have an obligation to do it every game.... but perhaps if one of us regulars created a 'PR Intro' squad each map then you'd only have to do it maybe one in 10 games.... not much to put back into the community imo

Yep. It's very true. I've made a specific effort to make a squad almost every round I play... I've called it newb-friendly names (note newb is not noob... newb is short for newbie which describes them, noob is people who are bad at the game) and so far so good, I've had quite a few new guys and their work is great.

On that note, all please look out for a "Bazzle^au" and a "McDethwivFries" and make them feel welcome, they're converts from whirlpool and definitely nice guys. I've played with both and they're sensible and mature, so please don't count them out because you haven't seen them before :)

QFT: Your computer is smart man. It tells you not to play the second worst PR map [burning Sands] (first is Wanda Shan).

QFT: if you dont get pissed off when you lose you dont care enough

my squad found 5 caches in one round of albasrah last night and we were pretty much just stumbling on them lol, however i agree in the other maps its a lot more difficult/less enjoyable, but thats probably just cause we dont know the maps very well. i've gotta say ramiel and quinling also make my computer load like crazy, its like i need more than 2gb of ram on an xp system which should never be the case! :p

oh and the server lags annoying too, is it because the servers have never been this full or is 0.8 just too unstable?

Turn your settings down, I havent experienced any lag yet.

but what setting effects how much your ram has to load up? i dont get any fps lag its just on those two maps my ram goes crazy...

Yes, textures I believe are affected by the new lightmapping which is pretty intensive on the new maps.
