Posted August 10, 200816 yr Whisky, Bourbon, the hard stuff. I've developed a taste for it, but I don't know where to start. Gentlemen, please impart some of your knowledge to me. Which brands are liquid gold, which brands are favoured piss? Should I dilute it with coke/juice? Where should a newbie like me start off? Any particular place they sell it cheaper? I look forward to your advice. Feel free to delete this thread if it's too "adult" http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p198/firehawk88/siggg-1.png Jack In Kick Ass

August 10, 200816 yr uhh...dont put juice in it. That would taste crap. Certain alcohols mixed with certain juices taste excellent. http://users.on.net/hindes/bigdy/valour.gifhttp://img205.imageshack.us/img205/5224/operationcrownribbon02py7.jpg yeaaa booooy.
August 10, 200816 yr How old are you? Are we contributing to juvenile delinquincy by writing in this thread? If so, yay! Im a fan of vodka, I used to take a freezing cold bottle to a party and just swig from it lol. Stupidity. Nowadays I like a good Screwdriver (Vodka and Orange Juice) or a Corona with lime. Mmmmm sexy Mexican beer. EDIT: always keep clear spirits in the freezer - the alcohol wont freeze and it makes the drink cold too. Edited August 10, 200816 yr by Haydn_ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

August 10, 200816 yr jack daniels. And if you hate drinking spirits follow it up with a coke chaser. http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/opagamahons.jpghttp://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/aerialservice.bmp
August 10, 200816 yr I usually just drink Jim Beam black label - sometimes with coke, sometimes without. Haven't tried freezing it :-) Don't mind a good scotch - Glenlivet is nice, as is one I tried a few weeks ago which I can't remember the name of (but it of course also started with 'Glen') XRogerMellieX: "Fiancee is on night shift and I only see her on weekends. August 10, 200816 yr corona ftw, just so expensive....buts its worth every cent You are joking right? Corona is disgusting and it should not be associated with the principle of beer. Check out the reviews on ratebeer, some pretty funny things have been said about it. On topic - if you're after a scotch whiskey try Glenlivet. Can generally get it for around $40 a bottle from nearly any bottle shop. Probably the best cheap scotch there is, very drinkable straight up but mixes well with soda or a little bit of water. Better off spending an extra $10 over something like Johnny Red which tastes like arse and isn't a single malt either. I don't know too much about bourbon as I'm not really a fan of it.
August 10, 200816 yr I only drink scotch and beer as far as alcohol goes. And scotch is easy; if it costs you more than $70 a bottle it's too good to mix with anything other that water. Never liked rum except for the stuff I can't afford and the bourbon they give you in the pubs - Beam and Cougar - tastes like sand or concentrated sugar depending on what you mix it with. Try anything you can get your hands on even if it's only a glass or a shot. You'll soon figure out what's for getting drunk with and what's for enjoyment. Here is a list of particularly awesome things: dogs sniping very spicy chilli cat claws on people (but still cool on cats)

August 10, 200816 yr The Balvinie, yummy stuff that single malt. I like Gin Martini's, I like Belgian beer. I pretty much like everything that is not liquorish or some other horrid syrupy crap. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/SirChuc/smokejumper3.jpg http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/valorousunit.bmphttp://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/OperationCrownRibbon02.jpg Or as one of many thousands of Canadians have said, my guns are at the bottom of that lake. August 10, 200816 yr for the last few years, pure black label smirknoff 50% have 3 litres of it in the cupboard atm. If you want it to be a nice drink instead of straight, I like it with a good strong orange juice or any other form of decent brand juice. If im in a hurry and dont have time to go home and get a bottle, Ill just buy a carton of doubble black skmirknoff cans on the way, but prefer a bottle as the cartons cost $80-90 compared to 700m bottel -$35-45 Fear is another word for weakness.
August 10, 200816 yr Never drink brown spirits these days...Beer and vodka for me..Well I mean beer or Vodka. davee is right about corona...() davee). ACC1...who are you calling butterflies btw...:err: http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee118/bahlye/bahlye007/mouse_zps73307fb2.gif
August 10, 200816 yr Johnnie Walker blue on the rocks...yum. Otherwise Jim Beam and coke. Used to LOVE Bundergurg Rum O.P but found it made me violent so I'm allowed one can on rare occasions. And Fire Engines: Vodake, lemonade and red cordial in a big glass. Aresnik [WC] Leiutenant Braaaaaaaarp!

August 10, 200816 yr Scotch is better than bourbon IMHO. Johnny Walker is the main brand I drink. The one thing you need to know about whisky is that depending on its age price and quality varies: Eg. for Johnny Walker in order of cheapest to most expensive: Red (young) Black (12 years) Green (15 years) Gold (15 to 18 years) Blue (No age specification, practically like drinking liquid gold regarding taste and price) I suggest you stick with black and above if you plan on drinking it straight or on the rocks (with ice). August 10, 200816 yr Certain alcohols mixed with certain juices taste excellent. Not whiskey or bourbon. OP seems to be wondering about whiskey, after what he said in first sentence? Maybe I misread Good Conduct http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/goodconduct.bmp
August 10, 200816 yr Don't think it was Glenfiddich, bish. Came in a small fat stumpy bottle. (was at a restaurant at the time and I think my vision was a little blurry in the first place) for the last few years, pure black label smirknoff 50% have 3 litres of it in the cupboard atm. This, mixed with that Schweppes (I think) tonic water infused with lime is just pure bloody win. I could drink that all night. Anyway, I'd recommend playing with JB Black and Glenlivet if you want to play with Bourbon or Scotch, respectively. For some reason I prefer even standard JB over JD. August 10, 200816 yr I stick with blue label smirnoff. Better than red but not hugely expensive http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/opagamahons.jpghttp://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/aerialservice.bmp
