When im playing on server 1/2 every 15 mins or so i get the connection problem message and then dissconnect from the server. when i check my internet it is working fine and there is no other problems. is there anyway i can stop this its really annoying, cause i keep wasting kits or vehicles or getting my squad stranded if i was driving and we go off a bridge

Before u go ahead and spend 2 hrs reinstalling windows, make sure no background apps are running, that ur firewall is off, and that no other programs are connecting to the net. Also, if u have wireless, make sure the connection is high.

I get the connection problems every 15 minutes or so, but it only lasts for 2-3 seconds then it passes. Annoying, but I can deal with it.

 

Since you completely disconnect, is your internet being disconnected at the same time, or is it only related to PR.

It might just be your ISP, something out of your hands. I remember our cables at home got weathered and the internet continuously dropped out, and on PR that equals a disconnect. Just see if your modem is doing that before you go do something overly dramatic

with my problems it would say connections problems and id get DC'd only when i checked my router it said the internet had not dropped out so it could be your computer. I would run no programs in the background or anything. A new version of windows fixed it for me.

the disconnection is only related to PR. My cables are 7 years old so maybe i could replace them. but if its my ISP (TPG) last time i checked they were the only one who could give me my internet short of paying $200 a month and i aint paying that.

My honest recommendation is honestly to try reinstall windows. Arduous but it should help

If it's something which happens periodically (like every 15 minutes) I wouldn't expect it to be something like cabling. I'd be checking that there's absolutely no other software running on the PC which might be spamming the Internet connection with crap in either direction. Also check there are no other PCs on the network which could be doing the same.

 

Other than that, maybe your router is buggered, your ISP has underprovisioned capacity on their core network and backhaul, or you have some kind of line fault.

 

If it's the ISP then your only solution is to actually use a decent ISP. You get what you pay for.

Try a manual Punkbuster update...http://www.evenbalance.com...pbsetup.exe.

And try the PB sleep thing...in game use the ~ key to open the console then type

pb_sleep 500 <enter>

pb_writecfg <enter>

just in bf2, though when i turn off all my computers it seems to stop

LOL - try turning off each one to see which is the problem. Maybe one is chewing your bandwidth, causing you to disconnect due to packet loss.

If you haven't already drop the connection speed in the options from T1 to 256k.

i used to to get that with optus. Wrote a letter of complaint, they said nothing was wrong with my connection but strangely the problem went away.......go figure.

umm who ever said switching it from T1 to 256 is a genius, it is much less frequent maybe non existant, maybe its cause my brother stopped playing wow on another computer and switched to diablo, WHO KNOWS!
