Hi guys, just want a quick poll on what people prefer I do if during the campaign the sides are terribly unbalanced.

If those who have signed up aren't actually going to try and play all the rounds ,or due to R/L can't make one ,then out of those in the merc pool you should start there.imo

Mercs being "hired guns" ,and as such are the obvious choice for filling slots(hmmm, that sounds so wrong...).

 

I presume you are meaning numbers and not skill level HH..?

I voted for leave it how it is mainly because I think it is unethical to ask a player (merc or not) to play against the team they were signed up to. If I was swapped over to play against my team I might not put in 100% because I want my team to win the campaign.

 

I do have one idea though I don't know how well it might work:

 

Maybe, just maybe we could have the clanners who sign up and are allocated to a team (Clanners), and the mercs who sign up and are allocated to a team (non-clanners) form the basis of both the teams recruitment pools. These players are locked to the team they are allocated to no matter what.

 

Then anyone who has not officially signed up for the full campaign due to time, commitment issues, etc but is interested in filling the gaps could be deemed a campaign mercenary (merc) for the purposes of balancing out the teams on the nights of the campaign matches.

 

This would be similar to how the mercs work for the ladder matches at the moment, subbing in at the last minute for who ever needs them but having no loyalty to either team in the campaign. But instead of the mercs being players who don't have a clan, in this instance the mercs would simply be players who are not officially part of the campaign.

 

Did that make sense to anyone?

agree with Shotgun....hopefully people are more interested in a good gaming experience rather than wiping the floor with the opposition - people won't sign up for future campaigns if they don't enjoy+-

Same here Shotgun/noddy. Tis about fun. Voted we ask for voluneers. I never mind, simply because a close match is a good match. No matter what side. A whitewash is never fun for anyone. Sure the victors get to gloat, but I'd still prefer a close, hard fought, evenly balanced match.

The best games are the ones where the battle goes back and forth over the central flags, IMO anyway.

Ask for volunteers.

Ok, its a close call - but volunteers will be asked to team swap if the teams are unbalanced this Sunday.
