I'm curious about something does everyone get the same stupid 30cal and 50cal ironsights I do?

You get that when you have certain aspects of your graphics set to 'low'.

I can't remember which one it was though.

I get those horrible shields as well, so If I turn up the graphics detail i will be able to see some potential victims

It's reassuring to see that someone else runs their game on low settings. If you can, run most things on medium and turn off all lighting and shadows.

Set Geometry to medium.

Set it to high if possible. It actually allows you to see slightly further. Don't know how much it impacts on performance though.

I get 99fps with everything set to medium, so I might set my geometry to high and see if it makes a difference.

 

On maps like al falujah I always seem to get shot by people when I can't see anyone around me due to the fog/dust/whatever.

Probably a bit of both. High geometry can sometimes let you see the outline of soldiers at ranges you wouldn't normally be able to. Even if they're behind an object...

You will find that generally the graphic settings won't effect you that much its the net code and lag issues unless your running a low end machine. Recently I've just been running low settings to check it and like I said it makes no difference issues continue no matter what you do.

Low graphics do allow you to see your opponents better though.

Very important to have your slider bar set to 100% you'll be at a great dis-advantage if you don't.

 

And the geometry should be on high.

 

These two are probably the most important settings for spotting enemies.
