Operation Crown - Forum Members Campaign

 

It seems there's currently some trouble a brewing in between Thailand and Laos.

Ok for those of you who don't know I have being planning a 3 week campaign which will be held on Friday 15th February, Saturday 23rd February & Sunday 2nd March. Now I have staggered the dates for a reason I'm sorry if you cannot attend any of them but I feel its the best way to get a good turn out and it helps everyone to hopefully get into it atleast once. So here is the general idea unlike the last campaign there is no negatives or positives for winning or losing a match. The maps all get played once with the winner being either the team who caps out or has the greatest ticket count at the end of the round. Overall winner needs best 2 out of 3 to get the Crown Campaign ribbon you need to have played in atleast 2 of the nights and have being on the overall winning side.

The ribbon to be award to all team members to have played twice and were on the overall winning side, that will of course be either US or PLA.

 

So to recap here's how it works.

 

#Sign up interest in the thread for night in question, there will be 1 for Fri, 1 for Sat and so fourth

#Each week we play 1 round on 1 map winner is the team with most tickets at the end of the game.

#There will be persistent teams so you SIGN UP for a team and unless there's some serious issue with numbers you will stay on that team.

#Each team will have there on Team Speak with a password on it.

#Commander & 2ic* are to be elected before the game.

#Overall winners will be allowed to use the ribbon in there signatures assuming they play in atleast 2 games as the winning team.

#Teams are US and PLA only

 

General Information

 

#Admins will be policing the game normal server rules apply and we do expect more team work to be in place.

#Respect your commanders and squad leaders

#Keep watching this thread for more Information as I make it available.

 

2ic* will take over for the commander is he fails to join the server is kicked/drops/rage quits what have you.

 

THE STORY AND THE MAPS

 

The Chinese government has for some unknown reason decided to back/persuade the Laotian army to invade Thailand. They have being rearming them with machines and man power for months now and are finally ready to launch there assault. However Thailand has not being caught unaware and have asked the US for assistance under the guise of conjoint US / Thai Royal military exercises. So it is that the US have being amassing troops in the North West of Thailand. Basing themselves for a assault into the Laotian South Western province of Bokeo code named Operation Crown. All the while the Laotian and Thai have being reinforcing there positions along there border to the South East

 

 

The Chinese are no fools and have moved some of there most experienced units including MBT's into Bokeo to halt any US advance into Laos. They know just as well as the US that there are 3 key strategic points where there forces will undoubtedly meet. The first will be the provincial capital of Bokeo Ban Houayxay the PLA have being stock piling men and material here for months and are well prepared to defend the city.

 

Night One - Friday 15th

The Battle Dor Ban Houayxay

 

Map: Sunset City 64 player

Time: 9:00pm (AEST) NZ 11:00 NSW,VIC,ACT & TAS 9:00 SA 8:30 QLD 8:00 WA 7:00

Date: Friday 15th of February

Server: GSA - BigD 0.7b PR #2 Small Maps

Players: 32 players

Rules: You will find yourself warned and removed from the game if your caught, intentionally team killing, insulting other players and of course banned if your caught cheating. Remember we hold these events so that we can all have a good time and such a high level of team work is expected. These events are about winning as a team and not getting the highest individual score.

 

Password: To be announced closer to date I will PM all forum members who have signed up for the event the password.

 

 

The second and undoubtedly the hardest battle will be for the small river crossing village of Kyongan'Ni due to its remote location and lack of mass transport to and from the valley. The PLA have had little time or resourced to build large defences and only have the most rudimentary of outposts in the valley. However the same can be said for the US and the battle will truly be decided by the force with the most worthy troops and bravest commanders.

 

Night Two - Saturday 23rd

The Battle Of Kuongan'Ni

 

Map: Road to Kyongan'Ni 64 player

Time: 9:00pm (AEST) NZ 11:00 NSW,VIC,ACT & TAS 9:00 SA 8:30 QLD 8:00 WA 7:00

Date: Saturday 23rd of February

Server: GSA - BigD 0.7b PR #2 Small Maps

Players: 32 players

The final defence line and regimental HQ for the PLA will be on the Northern shore of the Qwai river. If the US manage to a decisive victory here it will certainly be the Coup de grâce for the Chinese plans for Laos and Thailand. The US will be able to roll threw was little resistance is left between them Chinese border cutting off the enemy's supply's and bring the Laos and Chinese governments to the diplomatic table.

 

Night Three - Sunday 02nd

The Crossing Of The Qwai

Map: Qwai River 64 player

Time: 7:00pm (AEST) NZ 9:00 NSW,VIC,ACT & TAS 7:00 SA 6:30 QLD 6:00 WA 5:00

Date: Sunday 02nd of March

Server: GSA - BigD 0.7b PR #2 Small Maps

Players: 32 players

As I have said the Times and Dates for this really isn't up for discussion I've made them this way so I can hopefully get the best turn out possible. That means I have tried to cater for everyone the guys who can't make Fridays or Saturday hopefully can atleast make a Sunday. You will note that Sunday's time table is different that's in recognition that most people don't work on a Sunday DAY but there certainly do on Mondays so they want to get some sleep. Hopefully this means at the very least numbers not with holding everyone has a fair crack at being in this campaign atleast once.

OHH POOPY I'm sorry guys in my rush to get all the info I have written up so far I have accidentally deleted the posts which I though I had moved to safety. Please feel free to repost anything I have deleted I certainly haven't need to censor anything that was posted. I'll see if I can retrieve them now. Nope looks like I have right stuffed up here anyway I think I have included answers for everyone's questions thus far.

 

Feel free to ask about anything else guys but just remember the times, dates and maps are all but set in stone.

Should be in for all of them. And thank God for the map choices, at least I get good frame rates on them =o

All of the rounds have being added to the calendar.

I feel I need to point out something I have already said, while I appreciate everyone's enthusiasm I really don't want to see any more "I can make this night" posts in this thread. I originally posted this thread to gauge reactions about the match set-up and to see if had any glaring issues. I think it has done the very fell and everyone has being a great help but from now on if you wish to sign up then do so in the threads relating to that particular night.
