December 30, 200717 yr Interesting! There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die. http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/goodconduct.bmp http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/valorousunit.bmp http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/riflemanspecialist.bmp http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/infantryofficer.bmp http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/bullettime.bmp reportplayers@bigdgaming.net

December 30, 200717 yr Heh.. I'm finally getting around to reading Bravo Two Zero. Came across it in the library the other day. Who wrote that again??? Can't for the life of me remember. EDIT--> nevermind : Andy McNab Edited December 30, 200717 yr by cm. There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. December 30, 200717 yr Heh.. I'm finally getting around to reading Bravo Two Zero. Came across it in the library the other day. That book has certainly copped some serious flak as has Andy McNab hes said to be a real knob. http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa188/VisOne_Photo/Signatures%20and%20Banners/VisP.png
December 30, 200717 yr That book has certainly copped some serious flak as has Andy McNab hes said to be a real knob. He's also been called liar. Read "The One That Got Away" by Chris Ryan he was there too only he actually got away, funny that with the title and all...... You guys need to read "18 Hours" and take some pride in your SAS. http://www.harpercollins.com.au/global_scripts/product_catalog/book_xml.asp?isbn=0732282306 Wonderful book you guys will love it. I'm reading 'Midnight in Some Burning Town' from the Balkans to Baghdad by Christian Jennings. One part goes on to say about how an old man had to pay to escape from Albania. The Serbs made him pay almost $20,000 to get him and his wife out or they would kill them both. I will quote "The farmer was assured that his wife would be coming with him. Just before they left the house, the Serbs cut her head off with a bread knife and passed it to the old man to take with him on his flight across the border." This happens all over the world and is exactly why we send troops to these god awfull hot spots. I posted that quote as a pot shot to those who have slammed me for my support of us going to war to interfere in others affairs. I've got many many more examples from soldiers who where there who trained me. Such as rigging babies to cots so anyone picking them up detonates the house and surrounding area. http://www.orionbooks.co.uk/MP-31349/Midnight-in-Some-Burning-Town.htm Anyway,,,, I just read a great book set in an imaginary Feudal Japan. It's called "Heavens Net is Wide" by Lian Hearn. I ripped through it so fast and have ordered the rest of the series called Tales of the Otori and bick one up today. http://www.amazon.com/Heavens-Net-Wide-Tales-Otori/dp/159448953X Loved it. Oh and I got a great book written by a Digger on the Western Front from WW1. It rivals all quiet, actually it's better and as soon as I remember the title I'll post it. I figured that as I'm going to be Australian one day I'll read your history and I dove into it head first. My next read is about your SAS in Vietnam!! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/SirChuc/smokejumper3.jpg http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/valorousunit.bmphttp://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/OperationCrownRibbon02.jpg Or as one of many thousands of Canadians have said, my guns are at the bottom of that lake. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. - On Gun Confiscation
December 31, 200717 yr I just read a great book set in an imaginary Feudal Japan. It's called "Heavens Net is Wide" by Lian Hearn. I ripped through it so fast and have ordered the rest of the series called Tales of the Otori and bick one up today. Thats the prequeal to the tales of the Otori series and is actually the 4th book to be released in the series the first was Across the Nightingale Floor. Below is a outline of how the books sit in chronological order. I have read the entire series and currently have Heaven's Net is Wide sitting around my house somewhere ..... ok I lost it and I haven't even read it yet. Any who its a really good series by a Australian author no less, if your really into it I would also suggest you read the Ninja Series by Erik Van Lustbader. Heaven's Net is Wide: 0-17 (Prequeal & Latest Release) Across the Nightingale Floor: 17-18 Grass for His Pillow: 18-19 Brilliance of the Moon: 19, 33 (afterword) The Harsh Cry of the Heron: 34-36 Also I have to mention my favorite non-fictional book of all time is Trackers its a account of a number of combat dog tracker teams during the Vietnam war. Incredibly well written from the first person view of one of the dog handlers and always touches my heart when ever I read it. Any our other previous book discussion thread can be found here if anyone is interested. http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa188/VisOne_Photo/Signatures%20and%20Banners/VisP.png

January 1, 200817 yr Nice one CDN. I got 18 Hours for christmas and read it in 2 days. It was a great read and has now paved the way for Rescue on Roberts Ridge and Not a Good Day to Die which I will purchase with a QBD voucher I got for christmas. Another book I just finished is Sword of Allah which talks about the roots of the current fundamentalist Islam beliefs. Its a real eye opener for those interested. I'm currently half way through Apocolypse - Mahmoud Ahmedinejad which talks about how the Iranian president is trying start new world war in an effort to bring out the Hidden Imam or Madhi who will return when things are chaotic and usher in a new world order based on Sharia. Interesting book. I'm also reading The Secret of The Secret which talks about the origins of the highly successful The Secret book and DVD that is going around at the moment. As well as 1812 - Napoleon's invasion of Russia; Massoud's War; The Utility of Force; and a few others.
