A great problem facing those enlightened among us who realise the dire need for environmental reconfigurations in humanity's effect on this planet is that the best ways of alleviating our problems are not necessarily consistent with current economic models. The simple fact is that although human culture has evolved along with economic constraints and imperatives which may appear to be not necessarily aligned with environmental concerns - the best ways of approaching our pressing environmental problems are not intrinsically anti-economic in nature. Environmental solutions can also be of economic benefit. It is requisite of some complex, innovative and creative thinking, but it can be done. We do not have a choice anymore.
