I've never had one and don't know how to make them and couldn't help but notice some of you have some talent that I really like.

 

That said could anyone make me a cool sig of a para, with smoke effects of course.

 

Soldiers in the dark in smoke would also be cool.

Ehh burn it with fire, make it smaller mate its way way way way too big for a signature. 500 x 100 is a more acceptable, they should be wide less height = better/easier forum's to read.

I'm a budding photoshop user.......please explain how you did it......please!!!

Levels

Its in the Image -> Adjustments -> Levels (Ctrl-L)

Basically this feature allows you to alter the brightness levels for shadows, midtones and highlights (black being shadows, etc). Play around with it with photos, that was the first step in altering the source photograph

 

Filters -> Render -> Clouds/Difference Clouds

Create a new image, and render the entire area with clouds. Run the level adjuster through them to the desired brightness, then copy/paste them into the sig workspace on a new level above the photograph. This will be the smoke

 

Eraser

Lower the hardness and flow settings (I got them down to 1%, but it varies, however flow must be very low). Then I cleared the smoke to reveal the desired part of the picture, iie the grunt.

 

Text and Crop

Speaks for itself, and voila!

Man I have CS3 and I cant even work out how to paste a layer Grrrr.

Oh to be good enough to create my own sig.

Can you move the name to the left side and crop it just short of the right window so it's smaller and can be used every place I use my tag?

check your user cp smokey,make sure the img code is in there,,,cut and paste the code to make sure U got it right..

 

(sandy did my sig and vis resized it for me..)

Ive added your new sig for you.

I like the final version looks good with the name in the left If I made it I would still make it a little wider but as you can see from all of my work around the place I like mine wide and thin. Still a huge improvement over no sig, and much easier on the eye than the original.

Thanks Chuc! I really like my new sig, I should really get a copy of photoshop and have a crack at it. Is it expensive?

I got my photoshop through rather illicit means.. <_<

By that I mean my school 'lent' me a copy

Ooh yeah, photoshop is expensive as hell...

Not worth buying it unless you need it for serious application ie work, in which case WORK should be the ones buying it any way

I get it free from a "shop"...

I shop around for free and get it elsewhere

 

Having said that I have it and cant use it...
