Anyone else here got the beta?

 

I've just down loaded this to day and my system is suffering trying to run it!!!

 

Going to have a try later with some new drivers hopefully it will play a little better......

well with every setting on low I can't even play my graphics are screwed!!

Meh, just started to get to play after i disabled all the fancy stuff in the nivida control panel.

 

As for a link you will have to join file-planet or one of the other sites to get a key, if you google crysis MP beta you will find the right site but you have to pay to get a key. I joined for a year at a cost of 59 us dollars, but I can down load beta's from all new games for a year, and some other stuff........

 

When I got it to play is was still really really poor with my system.....very lagy but it is a beta.......

 

As sli only gives you about 20% increase in performance don't hold you breath........

I got it the other day and it works fine with everything on high. Shame I can't find a server with a ping below 200.

yep managed to extort a beta ket off of clan mate, tried last night for first time - graphics are unreal, think my cpu is bottlenecking my performance as i'm running an amd3500+ with 2gigs corsair on a 7950gt. With the res on hi and setting on med, everything looks amazing and runs fairly smooth as long as athers no explosions goin off near me or im not turbo driving - will lower settings (until it becomes playable)

 

But yeah you can sit ther and spectate (chase camera) the guys that have been playing non-stop for the last few days and see how they play!

 

u watch 2 guys run into a compound and break off- 1 guy vanishes and you see his silouette bound up a building and over a roof, and the other guy's suit crystalizes into a glowing red and he smashes thru a wall. Incredible view distance, vehicle dynamics are amazing, un cluttered screen, smooth gameplay, intereesting concepts for team play, weps incl. everything from your fists to nukes and the water is breathtaking.

 

definatley a winner!

i have it, its runs fairly well on my 8600,e6600,2gb on medium but it makes my sytem cry on high

Im going to wait until i know what the game play is like before i upgrade my computer to run this monster of a game.

 

Plus have to convince the leader of the opposition (my wife) to let me spend all my hard earnt money

You need to do it while they aren't looking and them pretend like nothing has changed, and complain about it still being a peice of crap when it actual fact its a beast and a half.

Off topic: Only way I can fund puter parts now is to sell other stuff on ebay. BTW anyone want my old Magic the Gathering card collection? Its on ebay now. LOL Go you little auction ppls. Hopefully it will get me enough for a C2D cpu...

 

On Topic: Yes tell us how it plays! Does it have any tactical aspects (eg squads/teams/flags/hostages/whatever)?

Guys throw up some screen shots for us on different settings, let us poor RL pc users have a look. :sweat: Cause I'm sure we have all seen the pretty trailers and what not but the average joe isn't running a server sized beast like some game developers. :stick:

Looks like I'll need an upgrade also. I want to be able to see the full Dx10 goodness.

 

I'll need a new mobo, graphics card, ram and cpu.............

 

I've seen the screenies of this game and the video's and I think it's going to be really fun. I do hope that the online play will be just as good as what the single player looks like! I've not been looking forward to a single player game in a long while.

ok Beta is not DX10, gay. Played it all morning. Love it. Maxx reso, max AA, everything on high smooth as. Only problem though, is it gets laggy as **** when you get like 10 ppl in a room all firing. Plus the motion blur when you turn fast its a bit jumpy. I suppose its the beta still. Gameplays good fun though. Be good if we has some Vietnam mods for it, with the jungle and all.

Just watched a whole heap of beta videos on you tube and it does look very run and gun. I saw a lot of people running around with rocket launchers doing super jumps and blasting everyone. Also also a lot of sidestepping, bunny hopping, spray and praying.

Having said that, the environment and physics of the game are outstanding. I saw one guy crawling through very realistic foliage. It would be a nightmare trying to spot a sniper on a hill in that stuff! Makes for a very realistic setting.

Unlike BF2 where you can usually spot someone hiding in the bushes quite easily...

A PR type mod or the WW2 mod in development, with toned down running and the super strength bizzo would be great i think!

Now i just need to pull 4 grand out my bum for a super computer

The run and gun aspect in this is inevitable do to the super suits. As it fits in the plot I'll happliy deal with it and when some mods are done, whhheeeee!

 

Also, all games are run and gun until people figure it out. Too bad I doubt that there is squad play, I imagine it will be like CS where two sides slug it out.

 

Is that correct or do they have a squad system.

there isn't a squad system as such. But players can choose their objective. ie capture this point. Other players can see what the others are doing as their objective like ETQW. Added to that their is voip . So co-op surprisingly does happen.
