New Horizons probe beamed back this beauty today, more pics will be transmitted back over the next weeks. Full data won't be transmitted back until 16 months from now...space is big...

 

Put this in perspective. I reckon that we will not see another (dwarf) planet photographed new for another 50 - 80 years.

i guess that it was blue was just that....a guess. apparently it's red and it's largest moon is green.

10:53 AEST: New Horizons "phoned home" mission successful. Will begin transmitting the data back to earth.
