Will be in a share house next year, so I'll have to organise my own net there as well.

 

(That result is actually limited by my hardware, there's a guy on 2nd floor getting well over 100Mb/s)

Let's just say take your first result, remove the first two digits then shift the decimal to the right by one. Sometimes if I'm really lucky I even manage to get your upload as my download!

? there is no reason that you are getting those poor speeds ring your ISP, if they say it is Telstra's fault ring them, I rang the regional manager one day to see why our town did not have adsl, only dial up, after they put in a fiber cable cable out to our town. first thing he said to me was how did you get this number? lol. and POW we got it shortly afterwards .

 

Just ring Telstra's head office switchboard 1300 368 387 then you will have to press 3 for other enquires ( but I think that your smart enough to work that out ), and then just ask to be put through to your area's regional manager . I just rang them to double check that it was the right number, these girls are so much nicer then every other Telstra help number I have ever rung ) but if for some reason that does not work, PM me and I will get you someone highers phone number .

Yeah, I'm over 5kms from the exchange so max I was getting was 3.8Mbps. Calle dip a number of times but no joy. There is a rim less than a km from our place but it's a Telstra only box. friend who lives in the area is a Telstra tech, told me about some rather interesting gear he has seen in the exchanges which is installed by non Telstra techs. From what one of them told him, think NSA in the US and what they do in the exchanges over there.
