On Saturday, we were in Yeppoon looking at rocks on the beach (Trachyte plugs with some unusual columnar jointing and some crazy warped metasilts called milange or something).

 

Anyway, been living off camp food for the previous 6 or so days, so we were fanging for a feed. Walked into what we thought was the pub in all our field gear. Big mistake - turned out to be some sort of upmarket bistro and I reckon you could smell us from a mile away.

So we ended up getting pissed at the surf club, stumbling back to the bus in the mid arvo and trying to plot the results of the earlier geochemical survey which was due that night.

Good to be home now, just had some home cooked pea soup!

Usually I subscribe, but we were camping in a place between Rocky and Yeppoon, and we had to go to Yeppoon for half a day to look at the rocks there.

Brutal camp though, pulling >16hr days with around 8 of that in the field examining outcrops and the rest in lectures and mapping at night. The beers at the surf club were sweet
