Why the i5 ? , just go the i7..

 

Has your old PC and all its peripherals been stolen or something.....or you just want other one ?

replace the gcard and go I7

I'd go for an Nvidia card, but other than that; looks fine.

The i5 4590 is fine for most anything; quad core with a good clock speed, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Should have enough Ram for most operations, and that card is quite fast too.

Other than that, looks fine.

Go for a H87 chipped motherboard.

why bother with i7? most stuff doesnt use that many cores does it? it's like a $150 increase..

I gotta get a MicroATX board, otherwise i probably would, hard to find one that's decent. Shoulda just gone full size. Oh well.

Hate nvidia cards

just make sure you check that your power supply has enough grunt to power everything you have at full load coz thats a big monitor. Also remember you might add to the computer at a later date so consider that when looking at power. Are you putting the computer together your self? If so dont forget a good quality thermal paste.

Im a bit of a nvidia fanboy, but in the last 2 years ive seen 3 graphics cards fail within one year of purchase. all were stock, 2 of them hardly ever had a load on them. Something is up with nvidia cards atm imo. ooooooor it could just be one of those things. I agree with the I 7 call. 150 bucks for a bit of future proofing? i think thats a good investment unless there is a new chip being released sometime in the next year. Everythign else is pretty much personal preference. Maybe some great wireless 7.1 surround headphones? i love mine lol.

Other things to consider is heat/airflow. goodluck!

cheers for the advice! The heatsink usually comes with good thermal paste, but i'll double check

also is the cpu cooler liquid? I know they really do prolong the life of them and are worth the $$$$

just prefer them, it's gotta sit above a desk, rather than under. Sure harder to build/they dont have as much airflow, but should be okay.

dude there are liquid cooling solutions for any build, there the new benchmark and must haves for builds these days. its more finding a radiator that will fit

I would if it were for me, but it's for my GF's family, so, yeah... wouldn't want anything to go wrong.

Ordered it - Upgraded to an i7, forgot to add the extra 100w to the PS though.
