Following on from the brief description in the welcome post, here are some details on how we would like to see the admin develop and what the community can expect from the admin team.

With the new forums comes the opportunity for a fresh active team of people to help look after the community.

If you feel this is a role for you and want to find out more about the roles, please see Uncle_Darth, Bahlye or Madhouse on Teamspeak or send us a Private Message.

Community Moderators - will be looking after the forums and making sure everyone has fun as well as providing assistance where needed.

Game Admins - will be based upon the game the person loves to play. The will be able to look after the part of the forums as well as have admin rights in the servers (those associated with us).

Media Admins - will look after the not only the forums with post and details from around the web, they can also look after the facebook page, associated steam area, twitter and any other integrated medium we can come up with.

Expectations of being an admin.

  • We need admins to be pro-active and use their initiative to make the forums a great, fun and vibrate place to visit.
  • Being an admin either across the whole forums or against a specific game should not be just about keeping the peace and reacting to things we deem as inappropriate. It needs to also involve being active in the community, posting things that might interest our members, bringing activity to and notice to threads and encouraging the community to getting involved.
  • We are looking for people that have a genuine interest in sharing the many wonderful things found on the internet with the community and have a love for a particular game of aspect that the community show interest in.
  • In the past we have had admins that were dedicated to very narrow fields and it lead to some areas being active whilst other parts died a slow death.
  • As an admin you are a leader in the community and lead by example, you should mentor and assist new members and encourage others to come visit.
  • Consistent, concise communication between all members of the community, including admin team members, external stakeholders (ie server providers, game developers, etc) and other parties as required.

So if you have already applied then excellent and we are reviewing the applicants. Please be patients as we are trying to sort many other issue out along the way as well.

If you want to apply the then hopefully this will help you with some guidelines.

As always any questions, ask away

As a community we are also on the lookout for current and future games the community wishes to support. This support may mean setting up a dedicated sub-forum for discussions, game server(s), dedicated admin(s) to over see and promote these supported games, etc.

If you feel you could give to the community, have an idea to involve a game we currently don't support then we'd like to hear from you. Drop us a Private message ('Conversation' from your inbox) with your idea(s) and how best we can as a community support your idea(s).

A side note: Teamspeak permissions will be altered to be inline with current community admin positions. Those that have not re-applied to join the admin team will have their Teamspeak admin permissions revoked.
