Hi gang, started reading The Sixth Battle by Barrett Tillman (my favourite book, no longer in print) and it's given me a hankering for a strategy game that covers all three arms. I know for sea there was Harpoon, Janes Fleet Combat etc and there are a couple that combine air and land but does anyone know of a game that covers all three?

Thats the holy trinity of strats and is yet to be built.

:hi:

Supreme Commander 2 has Air Land & Sea units if I recall correctly, but as more realistic ones go, they just don't exist?

Battlefield 1942. Sea combat was very limited by my recollection, but it existed.

Not rally a strategy though.

<sigh> yeah though that might be the case... Looks like I might have to dust off Janes FC and see if I can get it to run..

Yeah so did SC, TA and Dark Reign (epic AI at the time that one), but yeah looking more towards real world.

I'm pretty sure there was a WW2 game, I only remember because I got a free CD Key off someone here - but the game wouldn't run on my laptop.

It's on the tip of my tongue, but I just can't remember.

It might've focused more on naval.

Well, may not be a complete sim or full hard core but picked up Wargame European Escalation & Airland Battle for $11 off Steam.

I forgot how good it feels to get a new game, jump straight into a multiplayer session against a normal AI opponent and team up with a bud to then get pantsed in less than a minute. Once we knew how to get the armies on the board, 'twas all gravey! (o:

War Thunder on Steam promises to cover some of this off...

's air warfare at the moment, but with land and sea warfare in the wings (under development...)

As exciting as War thunder could be it doesn't deliver all your wishes --YET-- but it eventually will...till then Indie games such as naval war arctic circle may entice but once again it doesn't deliver on all your wishes... It lacks the land simulation ..

Whilst War Thunder is better than World of Warplanes, and its tank stuff looks better than WoT by a mile, I feel it's UI needs a complete rebuild from scratch... it's pretty horrible in explaining what it does. And more Russian Bias Devs... But anyway this is about RTS, not 'wannabesim-arcade-games'.
