Since the Osprey has been release, I was itchy to fly it so I went and practices on a local server. Realised that it flew more like a jet than a helicopter. While I once borrowed a joystick before, I realise I can no longer taxi the jets, so for the Osprey as well.

 

I checked out other posts on the Official PR with Chugga mentioning "stroking the mouse on the mousepad"

 

So is there actually a way to taxi and fly aircraft (specifically) using just mouse and keyboard?

 

I want to at least fly the Osprey as Muttrah has it and no many people fly well without losing it.

You can use the up and down arrow keys to taxi forward and back and A and D to steer left and right.

Though you can only taxi in jets now, you used to be able to taxi in the osprey like a jet.

Helicopters could also taxi by moving your mouse forward like Chugga said, but they removed the taxi feature for the helicopters because it was quite hard to control for people with a mouse and keyboard.

 

In short, currently jets are the only aircraft that can taxi.

Hmm...stroking the mouse doesn't actually work.

 

EDIT: Nor does the arrow keys. I believe that the settings for the Osprey are under "Helicopter"; but even at its default WASD settings, the osprey won't move.

They removed the taxi feature for blackhawks? damn i loved that.

They took it out because of the sliding that was happening when you dropped troops off out in the field, causing the chopper to slide into a ditch and flip.

Last I heard there was talk of a handbrake feature, but I don't know if they got that working?

yeah was super annoying rolling around everywhere, if you could toggle it, that would be sweet
