I'm not ashamed to say I had no idea where to begin with this last night. A display driver issue got me off the game earlier than I had hoped, but could someone please run through the basics of how the in-game Mumble works and how it is best used please?

 

I was used to B for squad chat and then my mapped Mumble 'local chat' key for talking to others nearby from when I played last, but this does not seem to work the same anymore?

 

If I have missed a guide on this, my apologies, but I think a lot of others struggled with it as the SL of my squad last might kept trying to get nearby players to communicate with him to no avail.

 

Basic operation only would be an awesome start - squad, local for basic squad members.

My advice is thus.

 

Ingame options - controls set the normal push to talk button to anything other than B

 

Then when you are ingame.. alt tab and in your taskbar you should see mumble thingy where you can customise your buttons.... Set squad chat to B. Unless you are SQL the only other button you'll need to remember is H for local chat

Other handy keys include the numb pads 1, 2, 3, 4 etc to talk to each of the squad leaders. / for the commander and * for all squads. the default squad talk button is numb pad 0 but I've now switched that to b.

So that I only use Mumble and not Voip? Gotcha. That might explain how I had two voice icons whenever I spoke last night - in-game and mumble. All I need to do then is move in-game away fro 'B' and I should be right.
