Posted July 6, 201311 yr Hi Gents, I know there is a topic PR 1.0 discussion, but I thought I'd start one regarding what is good about PR 1.0. Overall I reckon it is better than previous versions- sometimes newer is not always better. I think it is easier to be killed/shot, and hence, game play and tactics are more cautious and realistic. 1. Rally points & FOBs- means less walking, more action, but of course the EN has the same capacity and therefore more reinforcements, but overall good. 2. The silencer on the US marksman kit. 3. 8 man sq'ds- allows more firepower and its great having two medics!! 4. Develop more beta maps ASAP!! 5. Name tags- I would prefer all or none- and as all is not possible, none. Its doubly confusing knowing some names come up or not; I 'd prefer to just recognize the camo's. Only exception is maybe only SL's have a name tag, so at least if you are near a group of guys you might be able to communicate with them by recognizing which squad it is. DesiTwoBravo.

July 6, 201311 yr Re: What is good about PR 1.0 Beta Been enjoying the time I've had, looking forward to the proper release for some Aus action though. Otherwise... - Love the new sounds and effects! Arty never felt so destructive or deadly when it's raining down on you. - 8 man squads, because having more buddies is always good. - In-built mumber means that everyone will at least hear the orders/directions you're barking out, which can now be changed in the launcher because the devs are cool bros and all. - Limiting binoculars makes anyone without a scope shortsighted, makes communication of distant targets critical and keeps people focused on their jobs; like being a medic and all. - Backup sights are the best, easy to switch and pretty handy when things turn nasty. July 7, 201311 yr Re: What is good about PR 1.0 Beta Everything is excellent, this game is eight years old and i still rather play this than any other game. 100 player servers 8 man squads - feels much more of a sq now, although it takes a good SL to control 7 other guys epic firefights great teamwork great new explosions and sounds great maps
July 8, 201311 yr Re: What is good about PR 1.0 Beta 1.0 I miss you already! I gotta say 1.0 is awesome, I played every single night of the beta, something I haven't done in a long time. Now i'll have to make it up to the wife and spend some quality time. Roll on 1.0 full release. PS. Those new IED weapons are fantastic, explosions are sweet. (have a habit of resting a foot on the Sub woofer under the desk...:scare2: ). Those moments where you turn a corner and bump into some guy with no nametag... :sweat: The Prone animation.. so much less faceplant . Undecided on the hard to kill fobs.... hard to ninjar them with the C4 kits unless you are with a cooperative sq/team and Armour units are generally off chasing armour. Commander is as always underused . Very epic though. We will have servers up when we can have servers up. Ya this is a bit annoying, the amount of rounds it takes to kill a fob with armor is a bit insane. Me and guru where crewing a scimi on fools road, and it took 75% of our munitions just to get the fob unspawnable. but it's cool how you can kill fobs with RKG's now

July 18, 201311 yr After living your pain of playing on very relaxed admined servers (being diplomatic me) and getting killed all the time because of a 230 ping (I'm used to 40). I really hope that 1.0 brings enough life to get BIg D up with enough population to have a decent game 20 minimum but more the merrier. What cha think guys seen enough pacific guys around during the beta to hold out hope?

July 18, 201311 yr 1.0 will certainly bring players back to PR, for now long is the big question.... We have waited for quite a while for the promised Epic awesomeness and had a taste but once its released how long till the excitement dies off ...along with the player base and we are left with a few populated servers that are as a rule US, run by people we don't know and populated by either Die hard PR players or newbies/kids ?. July 18, 201311 yr After arma2 I'm reluctant to buy a new comp and get used to my second game in 20 years. Another night of being TKed by a mute I kicked and being insulted by some 15 year old Lithuanian, I've been playing PR regularly for years but shoot it's hard to enjoy in this time zone.

That we try really hard to seed the server for a fixed period daily @1900 Sydney when 1.0 is released and resisting the temptation (at least during our peak times) to go and play on more populated servers, besides even if the server is empty it will be useful to practise with new kits and vehicles. We make sure that we have enough active admins (incl. NZ with the time difference) lo to keep a decent player standard, in that vain I'd be happy to apply to help out, but as a Pacific noob I understand if you would be reluctant, I've been an admin for years with PRTA Wicca would vouch for me. I can't think of anything else to give us the best chance to get some decent play in as some nights it's so bad elsewhere I stop to read a book. Please guys I would really like to enjoy 1.0 with you lot.

Once 1.0 is released, we should get a few numbers back. People will want to try out all the new stuff with a ping of 40 rather than 200.
